Last order for the Performante was end of November 2018. After that date normally no changes can be made. Let's see if RC's wish will be successful.
At least Verde mantis is "only" a pearl effect colour and not from the Ad Personam programme. The latter should be impossible to get now.

Ad Personam colors are 100% impossible now, indeed. They are preparing the Ad Personam product line for the new Evo.

I already was successful in adding the Style package early January, so let's hope I'm lucky again. The production of my car is planned for April but since Lamborghini needs to order the colored parts (brake calipers for example) from suppliers, it could be too late. We'll see...still no word yet.

If it isn't possible to change the many options, maybe we get to change the exterior color only in Verde Mantis. It goes well with red calipers and a red interior as well.

My wife just got herself a white C63 S Cabriolet and I really seem to have issues with this color, it already looks boring. 😟 Also, a car like the Performante or the GT3 RS deserves a more "in your face" color. I think I can live with this color, this is not my daily driver but my weekend fun car. 😎

    Re: Lamborghini Huracan and variants

Where have all the Blue colours gone? They seem to be out of favour with car buyers. You hardly see a newer car in any shade of dark blue.

The current 911 in Gentian blue, for example,  looks very nice to me and more characterful than the blacks, silvers and the numerous shades of grey.

Blue is considered a soft passive color. Conflicts with the intended purpose of a high performance sport car.

You are right it is a personal choice. I had a Huracan in Verde Mantis and it is spectacular. Plus @RC's daughter will finally be happy. My daughters still talk about it.

"Bad news" for Lamborghini lovers: Starting around 2020 or so, particulate filters and sound restrictions for Lamborghini models as well, step by step, the exception (current law) will expire apparently. Cars are currently certified in Italy/Luxembourg? but starting with 2020 or so, the restrictions will kick in.

More news: Lamborghini offers now officially (at least in Germany) an Akrapovic exhaust system for the Urus to add some extra sound (I don't think this car needs it but it seems some customers are unhappy with the sound yes).

green is a very cool lambo colour from miura days…..its a classic.

however, white is timeless and 'different' on supercars….the car is 'loud' enough as is

in the end you cant go wrong with either.

Changes will apply to all smaller manufacturers sooner or later but probably not later than 2021 as far as I heard. Not sure if this will be valid for the EU only since it is my understanding that California for example will also have stricter emissions laws at some point. Smiley

    Re: Lamborghini Huracan and variants

OK, I tried the Performante bucket seats again, just to make sure I didn't make the wrong choice.

They are not too hard, they can be uncomfortable though.

Let me explain: The issue at hand is actually the backrest, not the seat itself or that the seat is not well enough padded. Why the backrest? Well, it is a little bit too inclined forward, like in a real race car. This is the perfect position for the driver because it pushes the shoulders a little bit forward, making it easier to hold a proper grip of the steering wheel. This may be an unusual position for many drivers but whoever drove in a race car should be used to it.

I can imagine that some drivers have issues with this position, simply because A. they are usually driving with an backwards inclined backrest for comfort or B. they have back issues in the lumbar area.

The bucket seat can only be moved back and forward, it has no backrest or height adjustment. The perfect driving position for me is like a "frog", I call it the classic rally driver position. I am sitting like this anyway most of the time when I drive, so it doesn't really bother me. I am not very tall though, this position can be an issue if you have very long legs.

I made two critical observations though:

    1. If you wear a (thicker) jacket, the seat can be uncomfortable because your back isn't sitting firmly on the seat back. Every millimeter counts! With a normal shirt or thin pullover (I was wearing one of those), no issues.

    2. The foot rest (for the left foot) is too close to the braking pedal, wearing driving shoes or shoes with a smaller "profile" is highly recommended. This happens because the legs are more inclined due to the "frog" seating position.

Overall, I do not regret having ordered the bucket seats instead of the comfort seats but I'm glad I tried them again.

I recommend this to anyone who is looking to order the bucket seats for the Performante/Evo because it saves you from bad surprises.

    bridggar:

Smiley Smiley It is called Verde Mantis but yes...it looks like the color of Kermit, the frog. Smiley Hence: My kids want to call the car Kermit...or Luigi...they haven't decided yet. Smiley All our cars have names...

No confirmation yet, I'm afraid. The biggest issue seems to be the color. The car's body comes pre-painted from Audi and if they already started the paint process, they cannot change it anymore because they do it pretty early in the production planning process since the body needs to be transported from Germany to Italy. Will get the answer this week...hopefully.

I think in the latest issue of EVO they also refer to this issue with the bucket seats in Lambo's, in this case in the Aventador SVJ. They claim they usually pack an extra sweater to roll up and put behind their back for additional lumbar support, it seems to be a thing.

I used to have the same in my M3 CSL, the standard buckets were pushing the shoulders forward too much whilst sitting too upright, kills your back on a long drive.
