My very first Porsche. Unique feeling. 987.2 Boxster 2.9 PDK.
13th June 2004. This date makes no sense to any rennteamer (may be yes :-D) but for myself, was a special day. Registering in rennteam and getting to know more useful info of what we love: Porsche.
Seriously, I am short of words if I say there has not been a single day not thinking; when I would own my porsche. Achieving it due to my work and efforts. These words cannot describe all these long years. And finally dreams come true.
Its not what I expected at first, but I will clearly explain myself :-D
I had very clear I wanted to own a 911 ( no matter what generation, but obviously always thinking in a late 996.2 (4S specially) and in an early 997.1 Carrera/S if had a good deal. All of them manual and PSE equipped, if not I would eventually add it.
Well, things changed a bit, but the main idea was accomplished ! :-)
Since last year I started the adventure of searching for a well mantained 996.2 -997.1 with the options I required. After some months searching I had some options, but none of them where 100% my perfect cup of tea. I started to stop thinking with the heart, and clearly wanted a porsche approved certified car. That only meant one option for me: 987.2 Cayman or Boxster.
After some months searching and checking some local units here and there, I saw my baby. The lowest kms, porsche approved, with a huge list of options, well specced and the latest production date of all I saw. This is, November 2011 model. Inmediately phoned the dealership, got all info, checked the VIN number with our local porsche dealer, everything up to date, one owner only. Everything like new! This was it !!!!. A week after, it was sleeping in the garage next to the 991.
11/2011 987.2 Boxster 2.9 PDK with Sport Chrono Plus and 22.000 kms. (I already have done 3.000kms since then).
I am very happy with the decision. Direct fuel engine really makes a difference vs the later 987 model. Love the way it sounds, how it sounds with the ignition, love the pdk, sport chrono, all the modern gadgets like bluetooth, aux or usb. I absolutely love it ! Its fuel consumption is at 10l/100kms and it has sticked in there since, although I dont like speeding that much I enjoy with a big smile stretching the engine in curves and at low speeds.
Its not going to be a daily driver, but definately driving to the office at least 1-2 day per week :-)
For the upcoming months, I am seriously tempted in installing the FVD Lightweight version exhaust system. There is a well recognised local shop focused in Porsche since many years, and they are the official retailer for FVD in Madrid. Hopefully after some experience will post my opinion about it. Cant wait to do so !!!
As said, I cant be more happy about it. From my point of view it does not lack in performance ( yes ! You read right :-) ) the steering wheel feeling is as good as in the 991 !!!!!! Simply I am in love, had a great deal, one year porsche approve, roof off, what else can I ask for !! :-)
Obviously the 991 is in a whole different level, completely different and even more with PSE + Sport activated......but this baby boxster is so special I am just too happy.
Enough of my non-sense, these are just some pics from the past weeks in different locations!
Will be uploading more !!!
Dreams do come true specially if they are not too damn big !! :-)
