Though the drive back from Stuttgart on salted Autobahnen (yikes...) does not allow for a proper report on the car I already can say that I am in love !!!! This baby - when comparing it to my 981S - offers more of everything a driver type of owner could wish for, and that is: Feedback from the car - suspension, steering, brakes - you name it. Porsche did a great job in picking the best things from the parts bin of the (ending..) natural aspirated engines era - well done!
This car - especially in the flashy Riviera Blue - is not for the introverted type of driver though - it attracks massive attention everywhere, may it be the pic chasing crowd when parked or - even a bit embarrassing - guys overtaking on the Autobahn at crawling speed differential (the latter issue will go away after the baby is properly broken in :- )
Proper full report will follow once I had the time to enjoy the car in nice wheather !

DuckieRS:It's a beauty. In the first two pics it looks more Maritime than Riviera.
Anyway, hope to park next to it really soon around Nürburg somewhere... Cheers!
Nürburgring yes, parking no
Pics don't to this baby justice and the Riviera colour is even harder to "catch" - to be honest I had quite some doubts before seeing it in the flesh, but when I entered the pick up hall in Zuffenhausen all these doubts were gone in a millisecond

@ all - many thanks for the warm welcome for my Blue Babe !!!
@ Eric: I am sure you'll see the car once a bit nicer weather returns to the Eifel :-) Though can't do a comparo with the GT4 since I didn't drive one yet. But a P-buddy (also suffering from the 'Ring bug) who owns a GT4 will get his signal green Spyder anytime soon (actually he joined me for the pick-up day in Zuffenhausen and was searching for his baby everywhere....),
@ 80924 and Blueflame: missing the PTS window is not the end of the world (it happened to me before..) and especially the Spyder will look great in just any colour (o.k. - almost any) ;-)

m4ever:Porsche-Jeck - congratulations it is amazing !! I cannot see from the pictures you posted, do you have also the roll bar hoops painted in body color or you left them in black ?
I left them black. Actually I like the look of the painted hoops from the side view but not from the rear view (somehow disturbs the design of the streamliners - just IMHO of course),

Hey buddy,
truly awesome car. As I know your Misses and you, the options and colors have been carefully chosen. Must be the nicest Spyder I have seen so far, and the PTS makes it absolutely unique. How was the factory pickup?
Wishing you two lots of happy trips in it and already curious to hear your final verdict about the car. Would be great to see you and the car in person some time.
If you ever get bored and want to sell it, let me know.
d997h:I have added the GT4 side scoops painted and the GT4 filled - so far I am happy to have done it, since I plan some DE also this year and enhanced cooling should be something readonable. Any plans?
I ordered the scoops too, but i don't know wether you need to order special attachment features or do they come automatically with the scoops.. Since i ordered my car via an italian dealer i can't pay them a visit and have to order them in Belgium.

Today i reached 900km on my display... so still running in , in very miserable weather in Belgium
Since i may not pass 400rpm i can't say anything about real accelaration speed... But the trothle response is pretty good for such newborn car.
The sound gives you really goosebumps, even only revving till 4000rpm.
After 965, 993, 996 , 997S, GT3 996 and last 5 years R8 , i can only say, i think i was aborn p-driver...
The R8 was really fantastic, i enjoyed it very much, but the spyder suits me like a taylormade glove... The R8 as more comfortable (magnetic ride) , very quick, special, but a bit too "normal" to drive.
This one is working all your sences: vibes, tightness from the sportsseats, the woderful feeling of the alcantara wheel and shifter, the gorgeous sound... It really tells you what it feels... it's like the car is interactive with you, you give input and you get immediate answer.... VERY Nice....
Went today to brussels autoworld exhibition of italian cars (very nice BTW), i didn't even got the chance of parking the car while already 5 people were taking pictures and "filming the sound" like one of thel said... A bit embarrasing for my lady... she hates all the attention...

Those scoops are not for cooling - they are intakes for the engine and add a little power at very high road speeds. The radiators are in the front bumper...

Congrats on the new spiders guys!
FWIW, I visited the Porsche importer in the Netherlands last weekend and also saw the Maritim Blue that was show on the previous page. A wonderful car, really had a lot of showroom presence. The color itself is nice, but I think I like PJ's blue better than the maritim blue.
