MKW:458 Italia >> 458 Spider
488 Spider >> 488GTB
mostly due to the effect those ginormous side scoops have in eliminating the incredible blandness of the rear side profile of the 458 Spider with top closed
I agree here, though I don't like the front of the (standard) 458 very much.
Now to the big question that remains: 488 >> 458 or 458 >> 488 ?

This question remains for those who haven't experienced the 488. And maybe for those who want to make a lot of noise without going really fast.

Well, see my signature.
Anyway, there are many who are heavily moaning about he loss of the high revving, screaming, normally aspirated V8, although they haven't driven the new turbo-V8 yet. I for myself reserve my judgement until I have driven the new car.

It does sound good - that's a relief. Amari should stick to wheeling and dealing in cars and not fronting his own videos though

koko:pmarkow:i am puzzled by the giallo modena though. first time i find it appealing.
peter
I saw it recently in the flesh, Looked nice.
I remember you told me that you hated it when u saw it at the test drive event.
yes, that is why i am surprised by the video. it could be the black roof though which the car at the hungaroring did not have.

Whoopsy:I just didn't think the 488 has presence. Just about every non-car people i have talked to over the weekend who saw it didn't even know it is a new car
sorry, this is totally wrong. i talked to professional designers and fashion people and they all said that it is a triumph in design, maintaining ferrari DNA without being totally in-your-face. it makes the 458 look totally outdated. in particular the integration of the 488 aerodynamics and the design are very advanced and it does not need ugly rear spoilers but still creates more downforce than a GT3RS.
i'd love to see it with a NART stripe. then no one would look at the speciale anymore i suppose.

Whoopsy:That's from a designer's point of view, not from a general civilian's point of view.
We car guy can spot a minute difference from a mile away, but not the general public.
since we can even spot the differences between 991.1 and 991.2 you must be right:::)))

But that's not necessarily a bad thing.

After my experience with the 991 Turbo S, I would like to define a new twist to this:
We're at the point where you can be the fastest and just be bored to death, unless you race some other super sportscar on the Autobahn every single minute or you can sound like you're the fastest and actually enjoy driving the car and actually be the fastest because 95% of people actually drive much slower.
Cheers. (had to learn the above the "hard" way)

Not a fan of the new side air inlets and while the power and performance impress me, I would still get a 458 Speciale (even the "A") if I could. This may be just me though.
