Now we can compare the 675lt's interior sound to the 488's, and imo, the 488 wins this.

Yep - 488 wins big time - more exclusive, more adorable.
The McLaren seems to be more a drives car and interior is very much racing style.
pmarkow:weak sound but it beats every car except the laferrari and the speciale in the looks department. this is just me, of course:::))))

Not even sure about the Speciale in this respect. All those flaps, vents, slats, drilles and holes a bit much for my taste, new 488 GTB has the much cleaner and coherent design IMO.
We're at the point where you can be the fastest or just sound like you're the fastest.

noone1:Standard 458 sounds better than the Speciale IMO.
If you add a good sport exhaust...
One of the guys in our team owns a 458 Spider with a sport exhaust and I can hear him coming from over a mile away, this is pretty amazing.

Not sure, if you eneed a sport exhaust. Especially the first production years of the 458 (before the software update) sound pretty amazing. Many say the Speciale sounds more muted than the regular 458 because of the stricter noise regulations of racetracks.

I also think the 458 sounds amazing as it is. Everything more is just attracting jealousy and stupid comments.
Noise is really subjective, for me obviously it's the GTE car, but road car wise I think the Challenge Stradale sounds the best and the closest to a race car. 430 and 458 just sound like they're vomiting decibels when that valve opens. There are a lot of 458 in my area and when that valves opens, it is a very rough noise, no music at all I find. It's nicer at higher rev when you approach the red line.

I fully agree . People rave about the sound of the 458 . I do not like it . It is like you said. Suddenly, when the valve opens, you get that huge flow of decibels . I do not like the sound of it and I find it annoying when I hear it in town , as find it totally out of place + it makes the car sound like it is driving at 200 km/h when it is doing 50 km/h . RIDICULOUS !

I'm in the same boat. Having not heard the 488 so far, I have high hopes for the its sound nevertheless and that it will please my ears more than that of the 458.

After test drive of 458 Speciale I got that same feeling. Sensory overload... Then I realised that most of it is coming from the raw soundtrack. Yes, thrilling on short run but, exhausting on the long run.
This is the reason why I like R8 V10 Plus sound. Milder and bassier then 458 for example.

It all depends on how you intend to use the car. Spirited early Sunday morning ride in the mountains only, get a Speciale.
Same as above but also some regular driving, get a 458/488.
Of course it also depends on how many and which other cars there are in your stable...

The Italians are kings for that kind of bull shit. The worst if the Maserati Granturismo super stradale MC corsa pilota blah blah blah.
That car makes a noise that will wake up the whole neighbourhood ten blocks around and the car is doing 30 mph!!! Mega moronic.

It is exactly why Chris Harris in his review wrote that he likes the sounds of the 488 better.
This Is The Loudest Ferrari 458 Speciale Ever http://thesupercarkids.com/this-is-the-loudest-ferrari-458-speciale-ever/
too oo much for my taste.
