    981 Cayman - Some Setup Changes w/Pictures

    I have written before that I wasn't so happy with the ride comfort of the stock steel suspension on our 981 Cayman 2.7 The ride was too stiff for my liking and it gets too much vibration to the cabin, annoyingly shakes the driver/passanger; didn't absorb the shocks.  Therefore I ordered Bilstein PSS10 Coilover kit and finally put it on the car in softest (1) setting. I also lowered the ride height by 16mm which is only 6 mm lower than PASM equipped car but still sits higher than X73 suspension equipped car. Here is the result:

    I also made small changes on the alignment of the car and set the front cambers to -1.30' (stock is -0.20') and rear cambers to -2.00' (stock is -1.20'). As a result the handling and response of the car become sharper and feel of the steering wheel has improved. I want to try the car one more time on a race track, but I don't know when I will do.

    1 final note: I really like the car; much more than I had imagined when we ordered it. The feel of the car, the design, responsiveness, exhaust/engine noise, the weight of the PDK shifter; all in all just one sporty package. I wish to have Cayman GTS instead of the base model, but selling this and getting a new GTS would cost at least another 80k euros, so we just don't bother.

    Your Cayman looks very nice and the silver colour accentuates the styling. I cannot understand why people generally snub this model.

    So, Bilstein with their kit manage a sportier but more comfortable system, than standard?

    Did you arrive at the new allighnment by trial and error or else?

    With the softest setting, Bilsteins are not sportier than standard; but it is definately more comfortable. To be more sportier, there is 9 more settings.

    I come up to this alignment setting via other Porsche, especially cayman/boxster forums and from my own experience with my 458.
