    Last night, I tested 100-200 km/h times with Performance box. Unfortunately, the times weren't recorded on the SD memory card somehow, therefore I don't have the dbn files. So, I don't have proof for the times.

    I recorded 5,7 sec in one of my 3 runs on approx. -2.1 decline, only me in the car. My previous best time was 6,19 on a similar declined road, no passanger.

    This is the dbn file of my previous run.

    The temperature was 13-14 C degree and 2 days ago it was raining so humidity was low. Ideal night for testing.

    What has changed between the 2 runs that makes approx. 0,5 sec difference? 

    Well, at first tests, my car was @2000 km; Now, it is 9000 km. So the engine should loosen up. The rest is coming form the BMC Airbox. Since I don't have any dbn files, I'll re-test it again sometime near future.

    My friend's italia recorded similar times before (5,8 sec) but his car had cat by-pass system and ECU tuning. I car was also faster when our cars were bone-stock (6,2 vs 6,5). All of these times were recorded on approx. -2 declined road. So not mistake them with flat road testing. This is just a comparison data.

    Finally, we have official lap times for street cars from a world class driver @İstanbul Park. Marco Seefried lapped Istanbul Park with 991 Turbo S and 991 Carrera S (w/street tires) and did 2:10.873 and 2:15.888 as fastest time respectively.

    Some of you may know him, he is a VLN driver and also driving instructor for Porsche Driving School. He was @Istanbul Park for Porsche Driving School activities and set these lap times.

    He set the new bechmark for Istanbul Park and give us a new target to hit. My best lap time -which is not too far off- I did last year was 2:12.383, which is approx. 1,5 sec. slower than him. 

    991 Turbo S had street tires, so with sport tires (such as Trofeo-R/Michelin Cup etc) I expect him to be at least 3 sec faster. He also said the same thing after setting the fastest time. We shall see. Smiley

    Impressive times for the 2 997.1 in the top 4. Guess they weren't stock cars.

    They are heavily modified with aftermarket suspension parts (coils, camber plates, sway bars etc.), sport tires, modifications to transmission and about 1000 hp. One of the 997.1 (the second on the list) had engine failure on the day it set the lap time. 

    All of the cars in top 10 except the 991 Turbo S, have Trofeo-R tires.

    The Lambo Superleggera is also modified.

    My car, now has BMC Airbox (at that time I didn't have and my car was bone-stock except the tires) and it is now slightly faster according to Race logic performance box. IF everyhing is kept the same, I expect to lap 0,5 sec faster due to additional power because @Istanbul Park, there are 6 (3 long - 3 short) full throttle straights where I accelerate from 120 km/h to 220+

    Also 5th and 8th fastest 458 italia is the same car but driven by the different drivers who are my friends.  That car had cat-delete system when it set the 5th time and had cat-delete + ECU tuning when it set the 8th time.

    This thread had been silent for the last couple of months. I had problems with my front rotors because after heavy track usage, the surface of my front rotors became too rough; thus on braking, the steering wheel of the car starts shaking/vibrating. 

    However, every problem has a cure and this brake problems of Ferrari ceramic brakes are well known if you dig it. The main problem is the carbon ceramic rotor technology, CCM, Ferrari/Maserati uses unlike all the other manufacturers which use CCB technology. The difference is CCB rotors have ultra hard final surfacing which result in mirror-like surface. As a result, because of the harder and smoother surface finish, pads last much longer on heavy track use. On the other hand, Ferrari/Maserati CCM rotors don't have this final hard surface therefore CCM rotors eat up the pads like a grater on heavy track driving. Also the rough surface of the rotors become rougher.

    In Europe, we find a company which refurbishes the rotors and make the final finish of the rotors with a harder surface like CCB rotors, at a much cheaper cost than OEM Ferrari rotors. They supply these rotors to Ferrari Challenge series. I brought my rotors in June and collected them back in July. While doing the front rotors, I also brought the rear ones which don't have any problem but already 40% of it finished. They also worked with pagid and develop a new pad called Pagid T111 for fronts and I ordered Pagid RSC pads for rear.

    To make a long story short, I haven't driven my car since June and still waiting for the rear pads to arrive. My track season will start in September so there is no hurry about it but I miss my car.

    Thank you Milanno. I would love to own a Speciale. My usage of the car is 70% track and 30% weekends.

    If I had waited 1,5 years more, I would definately buy Speciale, only paying 12-15% more than what I had paid for my italia. However, the driving experience I had in the mean time was priceless. So probably, I'll wait for the special model of the next generation. My 458 won't be my last Ferrari.

    I'm still waiting for the rear brake pads (pagid RSC) which hopefully arrive next week. Then I'll start driving the car.
