    Is Corvette Z06 becoming a bench mark car to beat by other manufacturere?

    Great review. It's amazing how after reading this I feel like I'm getting rip off on my 997S order. They add a lot of performance stuff to this car for the money over a 997S with the aero kit. I wish they were out now....

    If you're inclined, I'd defer to the GT3 (out in the Fall) if it interests you. You get much more for your money and the resale value will be far better too...

    I know what you mean. The bottom line, for me anyways, is that the GT3 is probably too much car for me. Because mine will mainly be a daily driver with some track use, and because I still have a lot to learn to drive a 997S really well, and because the 997S offers PSM (which I think is an important safety feature for a daily driver that is not equalled by traction control), the 997S is definitely the car for me. I've got a baby coming in 6 months, so I don't wanna get too crazy. One day though, after enough experience and skill . . .

    Unless you are a really good driver (and I mean really good), and unless you plan to track the car often, the extras on a GT3 are extras one will never really use.

    Having said that, it really does look like the best 911 ever made so far.

    It used to be the racing class for this car at Le Mans. Now it races in GT2 class...
