Car trying to be a bucking bronco...help

Not even out of break-in mode yet and having problems already. Today, out of the blue, it started to buck under acceleration. It almost feels like you're flooring it/letting off/flooring it in rapid succession, but probably not as violent as if you actually went WOT. It only does this under light throttle, any gear. If I push a bit harder on the throttle, it seems to disappear. I really don't want to visit the dealer as it means a 2 hour drive and a day off work. Anyone had this happen to them? Any thoughts?

Re: Car trying to be a bucking bronco...help

Mine did that around the 4000 mile mark... I immediately called the dealer and started heading down there (1hr away) then after about 5 miles it stopped. never happened again (11000+ miles)

I've had similar symptoms but not under light throttle. The car bucks like a bronco under heavy throttle in first gear on slippery roads. I put it down to PSM cutting in and out. As soon as I ease off and change up it reverts to normal.

Not exactly your experience but it did give me some concern at the time.

Re: Car trying to be a bucking bronco...help

I know this sounds stupid, but check to make sure that both your gas cap and oil res cap are on tight.

Re: Car trying to be a bucking bronco...help

Do you get the 'bucking' feeling with sport chrono sport mode turned on or off? I have had similar problems in 'sport mode' at light throtle and low speeds (traffic).

I tried with both, no difference.

    Thanks. Both are tight.

Re: Car trying to be a bucking bronco...help

It happened to me only once, while in regular non-sport mode. It never happened again.

Re: Car trying to be a bucking bronco...help

Here's one way to solve problem: call Porsche and have them come to your house to pick up and flat bed the car to the dealer service. The car is dangerous to drive like that.

Re: Car trying to be a bucking bronco...help

Strange, but the car is behaving normally today. Hope it doesn't happen again. This made me realize how much of a pain in the ass it's going to be when something goes wrong and I have to visit the dealer. Oh well, it's worth it!

Mine did the exact same thing today. I have 2200 miles, was driving in non sport mode. Light thottle input, went away when floored. Drove around a bit and it went away. Like another poster said, mine also started right after doing some slow, residential driving. If it comes back, its going to the dealer and they're giving me a loaner.

Re: Car trying to be a bucking bronco...help

Happened to me last week. Has not happened since. I was going to take it in, but things got extremely busy at work, so I have differed for now. See the link as I posted same question on rennlist last week. There were some interesting possibilities.
