    you think thats a lot, check out your dealership's stock on Cayennes!!! The dealership out here has 40, i didn't count yours but its got more.

    Ready for Spring

    Similar thing last year. You gradually see inventory build up, and then you see it disappear very quickly when the weather changes. This is not a big position for a larger dealer. For mine it's about 30 days worth of stock...

    The lists from the website are very inaccurate. These list also includes cars that are on order, presold cars, last years cars already sold. Basically its good for nothing.

    It may work to the dealer's benefit to keep the list long. You see all those cars and think they're all available and with that many, they MUST want to deal?

    Justin,

    I took delivery of my 911S from Porsche of Tysons on Feb. 20. I think their list includes the ones on order, too. That dealership sells loads of Porsches so I'm not surprised that they have a long list and I bet most of those are taken. Also, those lists are often inaccurate, meaning that they're out of date if the cars have been delivered.

    This list on the website includes all cars that are on order with the VIN# assigned already. Most of the time, 1/3 of the cars on the website are not on the lot. However, I do see a bunch of Cayenne and 997 cabs sitting on the lot. At least around here in southern california.

    My car that was ordered was on the list as soon as the vin# was set up. It was on the list for a while before I took delivery. If you went to the dealer there was only one 997 on the floor for sale. I picked up my car a few weeks ago and there are now several cars on the floor, but every few days one is gone. When the weather turns they will all be gone. He actually would like to have more cars, but Porsche only alots him so many based on his sales history. So he specs as many he can get after normal orders and realizes that they will sell like hot cakes in a few weeks as the sun comes out. In the end he never has enough of them to sell.
