It might take a while (due to the 997TT's complicated electronics), but eventually there will be aftermarket tuning for the 997TT (as well as the 997TTS-if you can wait), sufficient to prevent any ricer from humiliating you.

Why would you ever want to street race anyone? You have everything to lose; your license, your car, your life, your financial security and the least of which is the repuation of your car.
A couple of days ago, an older Z06 pulled alongside of me while I was driving my 430 and we were doing around 20 mile per hour. He was a young kid with his friend in the car. I had watch him come up on me fast.
When he pulled alongside with the express intent to race, I shouted out to him I had almost 100hp over him about the same weight with a racing transmission. I also said; "Don't bother, I am in another league." and raised my window. He nodded and drove off. He got the message.
No way would I race him.
BTW a friend of mine is taking delivery of a new Z06 and one of these days were going to do some straight line exercises.

yes , if i think in this way, yes you're sure NBERRY but dont forget that i live in brasil! hehe and everyone wants to race a porsche a ferrari.... and they say.. ''[censored] bought this car to go to the market!?'' things like that leave pensative to run and shut up his mouth. but i dont race anyone.. must be a excelent car ..

about the thermas i will think about it
but i dont know whats the problem with the NOS?! it is just a way to upgrade your car easily.. much easier than chip exhaust for example.

) when Paul Walker in a pimped Supra raced a stuck-up @@@#### in an F355 Spider? I think THAT is the message the Z06 driver got.And THAT is also the reason stupid insecure kids with something to prove keep wanting to race us. WE have nothing to prove. Just ignore them, they will go away.
I never race on the streets. Just pretend you fall for his bait, rev the engine at a still stand, but then drive normally. The kid will happily brag about how he LIKE TOTALLY SMOKED a P/F/L/whatever exotic. You will happily move on knowing you are mature enough not to stupidly risk other people's lives.
