Man I saw a 355 spider the other day... I remember why it's my favorite Ferrari ever... it's stunning and simple!

One of my favorite recent Ferraris too, but just about the absolute worst V8 for ownership expenses. Costs around $8k to change the timing belts (have to remove engine from car - much more difficult than in 911) and the exhaust headers always crack and the F1 gearbox (if it has one) is a maintenance headache too.

When the F430 went to timing chains instead of belts, that was a huge moment for maintenance cost relief...

Every three years according to the maint. schedule. At least they give you an access panel in the 360 so you just have to remove the seats. Smiley

Did a one hour test drive in western Slovenia this morning with 458 Speciale.

Verdict? Sensory overload and WOW!

Well...

If you value greatest drive dynamics, not-from-this earth warp-like throttle response, very accurate and direct steering and all the so called "feel" things verdict is clear as a summer sky-458 Speciale is the best sportscar. I can not prise this car more highly, it is THAT good...

Driving 991 Turbo after 458 Speciale can be described as "comfortably numb" but, not in the wrong way.

Just... My favourite Ferrari color is Grigio Ferro Met and with some options "my specs" 458 Speciale would cost around €250K(German price). Little bit too much IMO. I am currently not brave enough to spend that much money on sportscar(actually in Croatia it is about €100K more due to our "nice" taxes).

BTW, not very much moved by Huracan. My deepest repect for 650S-BUT, I would never buy one.

I respectfully disagree here.

For example I almost got F12 Berlinetta last year. No financial issues what so ever.

But... Social and economical local climate was not good and still isn't. Porsche 911's are locally socially acceptable same as Ferrari's or Lambo's-no difference at all.

He did not have it in the right gear. At that speed in the right gear you would have heard the turbos firing. No freaking way the Porsche guy drive the car correctly.

On this first run the result is not the same, you can ear the Turbo is on 1ºgear and pulls away. I still find amazing the result for Porsche with almost 100Hp less.
