Not a big deal when the docs are faked. Apparently it was supposedly brought in as a show car and wasn't supposed to be driven. This guy was able to find all the loopholes.

I agree, if somebody has that much money, why wouldn't he try to stay legal and attract as less attention as possible? Maybe he isn't the kind of guy who understood how the american system works. It works great if you have money and get adapted to it. It works against you if you think you have the money and everybody else can kiss your b.tt.

I think you hit the nail there. This guy was a heavy criminal and member of an infamous gang called Uppsalaligan in Sweden (I am Swedish by the way... but I was not member of this gang, smile). He served quite a few years in prison. I don't think he understands what is legal and what is not legal and he probably cares even less. In addition, I would think he enjoys attention (the smart ones stay out of attention, but they also don't get caught).

To legally drive a non US spec and non Cali CRB spec SLR, all that they had to do was go to the DMV and get a temporary license. Its so simple. Just a form on a small piece of white paper that you tape to he inside of the rear window. The DMV doesnt ask about the car all they want is the money for the temporary vehicle license, that you fill in yourself, if at all! Dont ask me how I know this.
But Noooooooooooooooo
They had to do something really obvious - like use British plates - that gave the policelegal probable cause to stop the car. Duhhhhh
