Re: 991 spyshots thread (continued) (for UNRELEASED models only)
The consumer decides.
Each time Porsche made a controversial deviation they have been rewarded by the buying public. The Cayenne is a huge success ten years later, the Panamera opened new customer bases, the Macan shows a great sales promise already, not to mention the watercooled 911, the PDK transmission etc etc.
Similarly, if the 4C (flat 4 I hope) turbo engines are well received and sell successfully it will be case closed because those who vote with their money would have decided. OTOH if buyers run away from the Porsche 4C to buy Elise or TT or whatever else to such an extent that the company is forced to drop the idea, the original doubters will be vindicated.
Everything is decided in the marketplace and nowadays buyers are too informed and too demanding.
See how many automotive brands and models achieve 5 stars from magazines and journalistic videos and purists' assessments but fail to register sufficient sales because they don't meet the public's wishes and criteria.
