it will be this way going forward as long as the Ring times internet fanboys drive marketing for higher end sports cars

it is getting ridiculous ...the cars are increasingly software engineered to appeal to Playstation " drivers " as they get older and can afford the real versions of their virtual dream cars to take on the challenging 10/10ths drive to Sunday morning Cars and Coffee or idling in Paris traffic ....never mind what is lost in the analog feel of the real cars

I think the best thing for sports cars' future were if the Ring were recently sold to a housing developer instead

Blasphemy!! Smiley I get your point, but couldn't you just say that you wished that the Ring would only be used for public lapping, rather than leasing to manufacturers for closed-course lapping/timing? Smiley

I would like to know how much weight would be saved in going from naturally aspirated F-6 to (twin) turbo F-4? 400hp from a turbo 4-cyl is fun (I have 425 hp and 435 ft-lbs in my 2.0 Evo IX), but the throttle response does not lend itself well to driving a mid-engined car at the limit on a knife's edge...

Do you think by "Next Generation Boxster/Cayman" that this means the facelift 981 or the all-new 982?

Your point about throttle response is very prescient. If they program in a bit of artificial lag for "safety" and if their 4cyl Turbo is a long stroke four with a coarse upper rev range it won't be much fun no matter what the stated bhp is. I'm not sure if Porsche today said they are going to make a short stroke high revving turbo 4 to frighten Ducati owners.

If I have orders on Cayman S now, I would immed. cancel the order and get GTS instead!!! This is fantastic!!! mid. engine with sport pack. LOVE IT! its just the next step to 911, but the best mid. engine for this little car! If it would choose the F-type R and Cayman GTS, it would be a tough call, but the prices are very much in difference!
