    Re: Next Panamera

IMO bigger trunk is questionable, but who knows, maybe Porsche have some tricks in sleeve kiss Rear bench should be formed like in new Mercedes S Class - 3 people bench is standard, if you want separate 2 seats you can order that as an option. As for lower price, I just cant see that scenario with Porsche enlightened

    That's nice but they need:

    1) a bigger trunk

    2) 3 people bench in the back

    3) lower price...

    1) Yes, without the hump

    2) Yes

    3) Hahahaha...

    Re: Next Panamera

Its very tricky to lower rear roof line. Only way is to make car longer so you dont lose headroom space, but question is what if next Panamera should be more compact due to achieving lightness and more nimble drive feeling. Whether future Panamera owners willing to accept less headroom on rear

    Re: Next Panamera

    I kindly disagree milanno.

If they chop off the roofline aft of the passenget compartment and have some sort of speedsted humps, i think it's possible. Think carrera gt and you'll get what i mean. Only challenge then is that the cgt has the engine which necessitated the humos. For the panamera, there's only empty space behind the passengers, so how will they do that, designwise...

    Re: Next Panamera

Porsche raised the roof line and create that ugly hump because Wiedeking wants himself to fit inside. As I recall he is like 6'6" or something. So lowering the roof a couple inches is not going to affect the headroom for 99% of the people buying the car. It will still clear someone who is 6'4"

    Re: Next Panamera

I perfectly understand you Joost. We have same exact thoughts since I`ve made some renders that will be published in few weeks showing similar idea. Problem is - side view stays the same laugh In addition to Whoopsy`s post, only way to keep same headroom while chopping off the hump could be placing rear seats even lower

There is no need to keep the headroom designed for a 6'6" individual. Hardly anyone is gonna miss a coupe inches even if the headroom was designed for a 6'4" individual. So it's perfectly safe to chop a couple inches off the rear hump to make for a smoother profile.

    Re: Next Panamera

The Porsche-designed platform and engines are expected to focus on high-speed performance, with extensive use of aluminum to help keep weight down.

    This sounds great kiss

    Re: Next Panamera

Had a Panamera Turbo (facelift version wtih 520 HP) loander yesterday and I am truly impressed. It had the Sportexhaust options (push button) - together with Sport button activated it had great "overruns" - sounded like a AMG. Also Launch control worked unbelievable - my RS feels slower to 100......angry

    Re: Next Panamera

I met WW several times--he was maybe 6 '1" at most.  But I agree the rear hump is unattractive and somehow needs fixing.  The Panamera design has not worn well, and is probably contributing to its drop off in sales.  The FL IMHO was  not at all impressive.

Millanno, seems to me the solution is to redesign the rear deck, including a larger rear window and some type of built in spoiler, like the new Aston Martins.  I look forward to your renderings.

And Whoopsy, we are living vicariously with you on your 918 adventure!

    Re: Next Panamera

^^ I will try to present my idea properly smiley Rear treatment like this could work very well ˇ

    Re: Next Panamera

In process of making final sketch. In meantime, take a look on work in progress smiley Hump is still there for headroom space, but it is incorporated in opposite way compared to current Panamera blush Any constructive comment is more than welcome so I can consider it before releasing final sketch kiss

    Re: Next Panamera

    I love it!

    Re: Next Panamera

Very nice, Millanno.  One thought-could the overall roofline(from windscreen back over front seats) be raised slightly so that there is no hump?

    Re: Next Panamera

    Very nice work Milanno!

...or they could put the Panamera Sport Turismo concept into production.

    That concept was stunning.

    Re: Next Panamera

I love the look, but the wheels are way to big to be realistic. I guess this gives the extremely cool look. Despite of that it looks way to much like the current hideous Panamera... sorry to say.

    Re: Next Panamera

Great sketch. If you plan on building a 7 meter long car with 28 inch wheels

That is the issue with most automotive design sketches. Certain details are accentuated and exaggerated to achieve a sporty and aggressive look. In the end unrealistic.

The only designer who IMHO pulled this off was Fisker with the Karma. It still pretty close to the original design sketch.

    Re: Next Panamera

I would certainly hope the next Panamera would look exactly the same as panamera sport turismo concept!  with additional (or optional) rear middle seats!  that way its much more accepted to the market!  They can do the exterior details however they want, but the shape must kept as Sport Turismo Concept!

    Re: Next Panamera

I too love the shape of the sport tourismo.

And I really hope that they get rid of the boring downsized V6 engines and bring back some proper V8s. It's absolutely ok for me to get a turbo-charged engine, as long as it is a V8.  But I cannot imagine paying 130k € for a car with a  tiny 3L V6.
