The McLaren style is not attractive enough for the segment they are competing. Their models remind me of some kit cars that used to be made imitating supercars.
Styling wise their is an abyss between ordinary Mac and Ferrari.
Not sure about that and it looks as if McLaren is now confident enough to develop a unique brand design language following on that of the P1. The overall attention to detail relegates any thoughts about a McLaren being a kit car to the rubbish bin as no kit car is as well-thought out or executed in manufacture.

I think when 12C came out, people argue the exterior look was not exotic enough to "fitted" in the 458/Lambo/R8 supercar section. Regardless of the performances, the appearance does stand a more settle look as compared with 458/lambo/R8. This was one big down factor when people are paying around Euro250K~280K and feel not been "superified".... I suppose P1 was a great successful design, so to apply its front look on 650S is a no brainer decision..... However, the rear remains 12C is making this car a bit unbalanced to my view, its not that its bad looking, just not balanced compared to the front. 650S is still going to sell and I think it wuold sell better than current 12C because: price is 20K higher than 12C but its has carbon ceramic breaks and all these upgrades and a lot of options standards..... so if someone was thinking of getting 12C (650S), this would be a good time. I've checked with local McLaren that they will not bringing in anymore 12C, unless u put special order to it..... This means this 650C isn't a new model, but a "Facelift" of the 12C..... come to think of Facelift, then all of the sudden I think McLaren did a good job......

I was referring to the style the Macs, not to their engineering and manufacture. To my eyes the 12C and the 650 do not look like exotics in the 458/speciale class. But I suppose this is very subjective.

That is a shit lazy design job. How does that make P1 owners feel, its got the same front! What about the 12C rear. This is just weird because it feels like a cheap knock off from China. Also, the front feels way too kit car for my liking... same goes of course for the P1 which is identical lol. The F1 was amazing, but this is just not enough. Sad, because the 12C is an excellent sports car. I fear though that they won't really break through.. there are too many nice options these days with Lambo, Audi etc...

Here are some facts of 650S:
F1 driver: Jenson Button was helping to develop 650S: I hope he didn't suggested P1 front and 12C back
240km/hr incrased 24% down force
PCC (ProActive Chassis Control) is included standard
increase air-vent efficiency for break vent
P Zero Corsa MC1 tire
650H/69.2kgm
reinforced 7 gear double clutch gearbox; increase its shifting speed
0~100km/hr: 3.0
0-200km/hr; 8.4
0-200 is the bench mark for supercar now. don't think anybody can beat that in short time.... 991TTS 9.8 is gonna have to increase a lot more horses to catch up with 650S. I don't mind P1 front look that much, not a big fan, but the engineering behind this thing is attracting me much more..... I am sure 0-100 will not fall behind 991TTS much if the road condition is dry....

Only increase I've seen so far from Porsche is the pricing, not sure if they understand this, but the consumer is willing to pay more when you offer a car in the 600~650hp range and not below 600hp with the choice of dct or mt
I think my next car (additional, if I come to a final decision by end of this year or early 2015) will be a Ferrari or Lambo, have experienced nothing but poor communication with Porsche in the past regarding my last 2 cars and service being another major pita when it comes to their SUVs. I'm holding on to the 911/997 because the replacement isn't as promising as the way it's been priced with the lack of manual in the GT lineup and god knows what other cost cutting is involved in their overpriced 911s ala GT3 which I backed out in the last moment.

The leaks were bad quality and renders. Here's how it really looks, along with some PS colors. I think it's great looking.
Well, I know to each his or her own, but Man O Man is that front end ugly as hell. The styling isn't cohesive. They just bolted on a front mimicing the P1 (no beauty either). Reminds me of how GM worked in the 80s slapping on different front and end pieces and calling it day to separate Olds, Pontiacs, Buicks, and Chevys.

I sometimes play GTA V with my son (I do the shooting, he does the driving ) and this is a car right of the game, it just looks hideous. I am pretty sure that on the street, this car has quite a stance and people will be "wow, what a car" but for me personally, this is just too much I'm afraid. Btw: In the above photo, the car actually doesn't look bad but the sideline...oh boy...not my cup of tea (the photo someone posted earlier, with the door open, actually hides the sideline).

Regardless of its performance, I will always remember 650S as a Frankenmobile.
P1 front and 12C back? Are you guys serious?
Just had to amortize the development cost of the P1 headlight???
Is McLaren being so stingy that they cannot even give each model its own unique headlight?

Well, then I won't spare you my favorite latin quote: Inter pedes virginum gaudium est juvenum.
Or as a last good bye to an English friend: Ut sementem feceris, ita metes.
Sorry, couldn't resist.

Sorry the lap times can't be right. There is no way the TTS beat the12C and the MB63 by 19 seconds on a 1:30 track. Hell, a Prius could do better than that.
