    New C7 Z06

Supposed to debut next week at NAIAS in Detroit.

    620hp, 650 lb/ft.

The C7 is already an excellent car. This is going to be an absolute beast. Coupled with what is finally quite a nice car, this is going to be a heck of deal if the pricing doesn't get too high. Not only a great street car, but probably an excellent track day car considering the price/performance.

    Not to bad at all!

    Re: New C7 Z06

    very cool car indeed !

    Re: New C7 Z06

I still think that GM doesn't have a clue about how to market their cars and build quality dealerships in Europe. Nobody wants to buy a sports car from an Opel or Hyundai dealership in Germany/Europe and the reputation of the Corvette over here is still...how to put it...shady.  This is actually the worst part: Sports car lovers know that the Corvette is a nice and good sports car but they often don't consider it because of the reputation and what it "represents" to many. What a shame, GM lets an amazing opportunity go to waste.

I would even change the name of the Corvette in Europe, it may actually help GM to open up a broader customer base.

I have a #2 spot in line, just in case.  Price estimates around $85k - we'll see Monday...

That's a photoshop, but wouldn't be surprised if the real thing looks similar.

    Re: New C7 Z06

maybe a silly question, but what does the "6" in Z06 stand for, or, why is it not called the C7 Z07 ?

Just a package code.  It was used with C5 as well as some special older model from the 1960's.

I'd be lying if I said that didn't look good. I still black or dark blue are the best colours for this car. The shape is great but some of the design lines are a bit weird.

    Re: New C7 Z06

Again though, this yellow car is just a Photoshop, not the real thing :)  Obviously it'll still end up looking like a C7 Corvette (like it or hate it), but not quite like that one.

You never know. Changes in the upper management can give the whole company a (morale) boost and this could also change a lot of other things along the way. GM's marketing strategy for Europe (incl. Opel) has always been bad. So there is an opportunity to make things different. Not sure however if GM actually understands the importance of the EU market.

There is a reason that the rear-end shot is never used.

It is without a doubt the Achilles heal of the Corvette design. I am surprised that have no found a way to improve it.

I read today that GM was pulling Chevrolet from the European market. Not sure if that also applies to Corvette.

I think it only applies to the cars, formally sold as Daewoo. They changed that name later on in Chevrolet to give it a better image. That didn't work out quite well.

As far as I know/heard/read, will the Camaro and Corvette remain on European markets and they will be sold through Opel/Vauxhall dealerships.

There already is an aftermarket body kit for the C7 that replaces the tail-lights with ones similar to the C6 (round).  Will be coming for wider Z06 too, I would assume.

Looks to be from Italy, so maybe something was lost in translation?

Grant, I don't like the square backend. The round taillight will help but the backend still looks like it was sawed off.
