EnglishManInNY:
I can't imagine what the ZR1 will look like since this looks so aggressive!
Some rumors suggest this will be the top C7 model, at least for awhile...

Looks like they made a nice design, and after that, they said: Well, we have a lot of creases and folds in the design, let's add another fold in between every two folds we find...
It had a lot of potential but they're trying a bit too hard.
Examples:
The hood overall shape doesn't look all that bad. Remove two folds, and it looks good.
The front inlet: Looks pretty nice, once you remove the black lip and the black things on the side.
The rear looks really cool, if you remove the black gurney...
If it were a 911, I would have been mad at porsche for deliberately making "mistakes" in the design so they can fix it with the facelift ...
Definitely made for America. Wouldn't even bother trying to sell it in Europe. I certainly wouldn't own one there. But here in the USA? Depends on how it drives/feels vs its price. Could be fun to own.
However, unless it has a modern twin clutch transmission, I will pass!!!

Seems as though it will have optional 8spd ZF slush box (good for torque converter, but not DCT)

This is an interesting vid and they say under $100k even with the fully loaded package (less money and faster than ZR1):

Not one ounce of elegance but i still like it.
It's very purposeful and 'form follows function' (love that the front wheel track is 5.6 cm wider and the reat one 8.0!).
Almost a racecar which at the same time will be its greatest strenght and weakness. Strenght cause it will be a monster on track (my guess is 7.25 on NR and <1.08 on HH with sport auto), weakness cause over here at least it is not a car you would want to use as a DD or anything close to it. A thing you can easily do with the GT3...
Still, less than 100 k for all these goodies makes me raise the hat in respect. Others should learn from that...

Actually astonishingly close in looks to the race sister....

The ZR-1 did NBR in 7:19, so this should be a good bit quicker than that with Z07 options fitted (I would guess 7:15 or faster).

Grant, the times mentioned by the companies (7.19) are always difficult to judge due to many unknowns.
I was referring therefore to the sport auto Supertest times, where the ZR1 did somewhat disappointing 7.38 (slower than the gtr for example). problem of the car according to Saurma was driveability mainly due to weak aerodynamics (lack of downforce) on the bumpy track. power is nothing without control. On Hockenheim, a classic smooth racetrack almost without elevation changes the zr1 was very quick. This is why this z07 package will certainly add some performance particularly on the Nuerburgring. A time of 7.25 would be spectacular in my opinion given the pricepoint (this is the Aventador measured time).
