This $106,000 car is a massive disappointment.

I wouldn't say "massive." I'd say something more moderate.

Like when Porsche starts with this "Excellence" and "No Substitute" BS in all their advertising I basically can agree with it but think they're congratulating themselves more than they deserve it. (something like that).

IOW, from the outside they appear great and fantastic, but once you get to know them by owning you see that they ARE great cars but they are flawed by a *surprising* lack in some commonly expected details.

    Re: To multifunction or not?

wait a second which button you mean?

I hope you are not refering to any button on the multifunction steering wheel

    Re: To multifunction or not?

MMD i second that they fulfill many needs and provide great feelings, but it hurts, when you see that, some expected features, found in many ,less exotic and rather cheaper cars, are missing in a 911

Things commonly expected to be offered either standard or optional...

Still cant believe how this car does not have standard

    1)xenon-base model
    2)Electric seats
    3)Thicker wheel
    4)sports seats...

i thought is car a sports car...or did i thought wrong?

I really enjoy the multi-function wheel. big plus is the MUTE button. There is no mute function on the PCM itself.

i second that where did some members found the mute function????????????

    Re: To multifunction or not?

Well you've convinced me anyway, it's down on the order form now !

The dealer said he had used both and said it would be at the top of his list. For controlling everything from the wheel.

+ I think it looks great as well

    Re: To multifunction or not?

FYI there is no padded multifunction wheel. Only SPORTS steering wheels are:

435 sports steering wheel (which is standard on 997S)
460 sports steering wheel in smooth finish leather
XPA sports steering wheel in smooth finish leather but also with padded rim.

Yeah I can accept some things, like having to pay more for certain options which "should" be standard. But when you get a PCM which functions like a badly-thought-out and cumbersome low cost Hyundai unit:
