Yes, car is ready. Rumored track times are better then those of 991 Turbo S or MP4-12C.
Will the new Audi R8 version be almost as fast? Has the new platform lost much weight? Seems that it must to beat the cars above...

BTW, renderings from autweek.nl are pretty close to real thing...
If these are close to the real product, there are a couple of interesting aspects to note. First, if the rear panel is as opaque as it appears in the drawings, is one to suppose that a rearview mirror camera system, similar to that found on Audi's R18 etron will be present? Second, again, from the rearward sketch, no retractable wing is apparent, is one to once again suppose, that Lamborghini is banking on Audi's aerodynamic expertise and will use a highly development underbody aerodynamic package including the nearly visible diffuser?

The yellow renderings are really amazing. From my point of view, this is the first time when a Lambo looks clearly better than its Ferrari counterpart. Lets hope that the final car will not differ too much from that.
Note to self: I DO NOT need a Turbo.

Official intro is Geneva 2014. Just... Web press intro will be probably earlier... When? Earliest early February 2014.
Let's hope they can make it drive as well as a Porsche too.

I believe the major criticism of the Gallardo was the wooden steering feel. Hopefully this car fixes that weakness because the NA V10 engine is the most compelling in its class imho.
Changing from hydraulic to electric steering is unlikely to improve things (or even prevent worsening), but anything is possible. When I drove the R8 V10, I thought the steering was decent, but unremarkable. I assume it's very similar.

Grant,
New platform is lighter overall. Also, difference in wheels base will be much smaller between Cabrera and new R8.
Engine is further development of 5.2L V10(but, a in-depth development). Gearbox 7 speed DCT. Both cars will be much lighter in total weight.
Next gen R8 info from LA show... Dropping 110-130 lbs... Still just speculation on 2 engines...
