    Rossi:

Some more details of the Huracan:

    • official number from 0 to 200 is 9.9 sec
    • at 1.000/min there will be already 75% of the maximum torque available
    • new AWD system can channel up to 100% of the power to the rear axle only and vice versa not more than 50% to the front

75% of the maximum torque available at 1,000/min is quite good for a normally aspirated engine.

It's "quite good" for a car that has a redline at 6,000 rpm.  It's outstanding for a car that revs to 8,500 rpm!

The 0-200kph time is better than GT3, but worse than Turbo S (about same as Turbo), right?

One wouldn't consider the 0 - 200 km/h as the definitive guide, even though it is the official time, as Audi, Lamborghini's parent, has a habit of understating performance statistics.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Turbo S is faster in a straight line to 200kph with the extra torque from the turbocharging.  But after experiencing the V10 in the R8, I love that sort of character far more than a Turbo 911 motor - I think it'll be a blast.  Just wish they kept that awesome gated shifter Smiley

This car seems to be a game changer, the ability to change AWD to RWD is outstanding, it´s like having a Ferrari, Porsche & McLaren on same car, The performance of McLaren, the drama & RWD fun drive of Ferrari and safety & reliability of Porsche AWD Smiley

Official 0-200 time for Turbo S is + 10sec. still, I believe these cars must be pretty similar with a slight advantage to the bull.

    991TS official 0-200km/h is 10.3s and Huracan is 9.9s.

Exactly. I just hope that this time, the Huracan actually delivers (or better) what Lamborghini promises. In the past, the factory claims have not always been met. Judging by the weight/power ratio though, I think that the Huracan will be a blast but even if it costs similar to the Turbo S, I would have never gotten one. Too exotic I'm afraid.

I don't think a Lamborghini enthusiast will give the Turbo a second look. Similarly, the Lamborghini wouldn't be on a Porschephile's wish list. Unless, of course we are talking about people that could have a garage full of everything.

Porsche and Lamborghini are so dissimilar brands. Lamborghini's business mission should be to overcome Ferrari as the best exotic.

In my mind the only possible rival for the Turbo might be the upcoming AMG GT, but then again it will be a two seater with RWD.

Hmm, this is the first I've heard about RWD/AWD switching. People in Singapore and China have already seen it and no one commented on this at all, which is odd I think considering they were giving their opinions about it etc.

    You sure about that?

I think the car automatically varies the front/rear torque split based on need - don't think the driver can select RWD (unfortunately)...

However, there are a number of aftermarket Haldex AWD controllers (many for VW Golf R and Audi TT) that allows the user to play around with custom programs and more manual control.  Could be possible if you're willing to do this (I would think some company will offer this for Huracan)...

If you think that's a lot, check out Singapore. $1.2M there.

Re: Gallardo replacement soon to be revealed

I would actually prefer a Huracan vs  458 - fresher design and bigger NA engine, with more low end torque. But I really doubt it could ever generate 75% of max torque at only 1,000 rpm - who are they kidding?

IMO, 458, Turbo S, Huracan, etc can appeal to the same buyer - why not? Some can afford multiple cars and others (like me) have broad tastes. In addition, I've never owned a Lambo and it is now on my radar.

As for performance - I would expect leading edge figures (a few tenths here or there don't mean much to me) but more focused on its driving feel at  more normal speeds - why? Because one (at least here in USA) rarely can experience a car's 100% performance without ending up in jail. This is why I would only buy a NA car -  just feels and sounds better (to me) at any speed. To each their own - its all good....

Yes - but would likely prefer a GT3 for track use. Would imagine the Lambo's maintenance/repair costs to be significantly higher. OK - maybe I'd take it  to the track a few times….Smiley 1
