Because I read on 'the other forum' there were more serious delays, I asked my dealer to inform again.
Yesterday my dealer sent me a production update: the cars is only two week later then originally planned. So at this time no new delay in my case.
Hopefully this is true.

i put down summer 2015 delivery for my GT3 RS and hope that this will be realistic at least.
peter
That is so far away ! Of course this is realistic.
I hoped for an early summer 2014 delivery for my RS .... but I guess this is not realistic anymore
I don't know what to do....... I really hoped to get a new car by summer 2014, ideally spring 14 . But I do not want to go for the GT3 at this point .....

I wish you good luck with that.
A little hint: Dealers usually get a fixed production date, which of course can change a little bit (more) but he has a fixed date...if the car is fixed for production. Since your dealer seems to tell you "last week of october" only, I wouldn't rely on it too much. Just saying... Unless of course you have a precise date and you don't want to post it.

Unfortunately I drive a different route (Paso del Brennero, Brenner pass) but I will stay the whole weekend at Lake Garda, so if someone is there near by. Any recommendations for some nice roads? I am very often at Lake Garda but I always find something new to enjoy.

I have seen this car and it is on my option list It would also be the smart buy, as it has already depreciated + will hold it's value better , but I like to have the newest / fastest .....

Now I am very curious to understand why....
If you want to track race your car, I would choose the GT3 or GT3 RS.
If you really want a turbo charged car for the track, I would get the GT2 RS. In this case, you can compensate traction issues and turbo lag with brutal power.
That simple.
Btw: This isn't only my opinion, Walter Röhrl once called the GT2 a "manager's GT3".

Have you driven a GT2 ? Price value currently is quite astonishing
Judging from your picture, you've made the jump to that TechArt GT2?
What is it like?

Bad news...
Until now, my dealer told me no delay for my GT3 (expected date: Nov. 5).
But he received yesterday an e-mail from Porsche saying that the delivery will be delayed... Without any new date! !! :(
So if you think that the new GT3 RS will come soon, you should believe in God... :)
RC:
Latest rumor: No customer car delivered before December.
Thanks RC. Someone on PH claims 44 cars will be delivered in the uk this year:
Regardless if this delay means Porsche won't release the car until they are happy it is ready then this is a good thing. It means they care.

Ordered my white GT3 last Saturday and they offered a good deal on my 2010 black GT3 and I signed the papers and went home without my GT3. My ride back home was Panamera GTS and on the way home on the twisty road, I knew I messed up selling my GT3. Could not sleep all night. Went back to dealer on Sunday and tasked for my car back. they had four managers trying to change my mind but I had already decided. I am keeping the stick GT3. I had PCCB on my 997TT and loved it. I think I will add it to the list of 991 GT3. So far I have the front lift, blacked out front headlight, clear tail light, leather with red stitching, upgrade stereo, red seat belt. White dials most likely will be dropped, cant decide. It will be amazing to see the black and white in the garage next to each other. The best of both world. That's my solution to PDK vs stick :)

And what is your expected delivery date?
I like the strategy. I suspect however within 6-9 months you will find one car is getting all the use and the other one less so and you will sell the one getting the least use. Just a theory. No idea which it might be but in the first instance I think you did the right thing hanging onto the manual till you are ready to decide in your own time...
