Nope. The yellow calipers fit the exterior color and interior color perfectly in my opinion. I would just paint the rims black but still not sure I'm going to do it.

Interesting video from Sport Auto. Keep in mind that German cars usually have a speedo error of 10-15 kph at top speed and judging by the video, I actually think that the 991 Turbo S is speed limited to 318 kph.

    TB993tt:
RC, just take a look at the data below, yes it is "theorizing" but just look at the numbers. First you have to trust me that I know what I am doing with measuring 0-300 Smiley

The table below is 997GT2 with engine dyno 660PS, the data is acceleration from a standstill. for a start you can see 0-300 in 25.97s, we can both agree this is FAST and remember it includes 5 MANUAL gearchanges so yes the car MUST have 660PS OK Smiley

Now look at the data and work out the 200 to 280kph - it is 9.93s

Now work out the 991 turbo S 200 to 280kph it is 14.4s

OK so the 997 is 4.47s QUICKER 200 to 280kph

Now look at the data 280 to 300kph it takes the (much faster so far) 997 5.7s to do this

For the 991 turbo S to do 0-300 in 29.9s it would need to do the 280 to 300kph in 29.9-24.6 = 5.3s

So suddenly the 991 turbo S accelerates that much faster - IMPOSSIBLE Smiley

So examining the GPS part of this video the 991 turbo S does 280-300kph in 7.5s which is where it should be for 560PS

On this video the 991 turbo S does 200-280kph in about 13.4s so a second quicker than the numbers SA are quoting if we added the 7.5s onto SA's 0-280 we get 0-300 in 32.1.

The video indicates 0-300 in about 31 and a little bit seconds.

All goes to show that each acceleration run can be a little different and the 991 turbo S is fierce particularly under 250kph - fantastic Smiley

Yes, I would like to have the option to choose (some color combos don't go well with yellow or red calipers) but in the particular case of my car, I am happy with the yellow calipers.

This option could be easily made available by like the daylight running light design, the silver/black badges and the other stuff, the color of the calipers is very specific to a certain brake/car. This is marketing doctrine. Smiley

Yes that's true of course. On the other hand, Ferrari, Maserati, Aston, Bentley all give you the choice. Like you say, the the badges and all the other stuff should also be optional in different color(s). They could even make more profit out of it. Lost oppertunity IMO.

But brake calipers can be painted I assume?

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

According to what AMS apparently achieved in their test of this (?) car: 30.4 seconds.

After driving 600 km in the 991 Turbo S, I can tell you that this car may not be the fastest around to 300 kph but there won't be many cars around to be able to follow this car in real life, considering that all cars are driven by similar talented drivers. It is unbelievable how good the chassis/AWD setup is, you basically keep the throttle pressed and don't care about anything else. Of course this is a little bit exaggerated but the car is very neutral and traction is amazing.

I have to think of Walter Röhrl's comment on the GT3 here: "if you want to have an accident with this car you have to steer it off the road yourself" Smiley

Of course he was not sincere and these cars are (like all fast cars) still dangerous - however, the comment illustrates what you also write about your 991 turbo S Smiley

    Completely agree!

The limegold car could have been this one. It's on display in Holland at Porsche Centrum Gelderland since saturday. Saw it at their Facebook page. It's a Porsche exclusive car, with agate interior and some bits (partial seats, instrument cluster and arnrest beween seats) in limegold. The stitching inside is also limegold. I emailed them and they did send me the specs on a PDF sheet. Price of the vehicle is € 250962,- Smiley

Not completely my cup of tea to be honest, but it looks different.

And when it left I felt someone had suddenly removed an intravenous line which had been supplying me with a low-level narcotic. Without knowing it, I had become quite addicted. But the Turbo S is something else, the thrust is completely addictive, the traction makes you grin and the launch control - well, at some point everyone has to experience the launch control. And it has a quiet, burgeoning demeanour that I think would allow the owner to enjoy a real bond with it.

I haven't said that about a 911 Turbo for years.

I full agree with CH. When I ordered the 991 Turbo S, I had hoped for so much but I never actually thought that Porsche would deliver "my" perfect Turbo. Everything is just as I imagined it to be: The steering, the chassis, the AWD, the drive feel, the safety, the traction, the PSM setup, just everything. Yes, I gave some input to development and yes, I criticized the previous 996 Turbo and 997 Turbo but I never thought Porsche would actually take that seriously, so it seems that I wasn't the only one who felt/experienced the same. Kudos to Porsche for making it happen. Smiley

Actually Porsche went back to the roots with the 991 Turbo S, it feels much more like a 996 Turbo than a 997 Turbo and I mean it in a positive way.

Can't wait for his video. Smiley

You should really see this combo LIVE first before ordering it. The Sport Classic rims don't really fit the Turbo S in my opinion, they look too bulky for this car.  GT Silver exterior and Espresso interior is a sure thing but you need to be aware that it makes the car look more elegant. Unless this is what you are planning all the way.

Agree with RC on this. I think the SC wheels are not suited for this car. Love the color combo though.

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

SC wheels look out of their place on this car. In fact on every 991 to be honest. But all that is a matter of taste of course.

the combo GT-silver/Espresso looks gorgeous! Very classy and classic and one of my favourites, although I personally like the Turbo most in dark colors i think.

I am quite comfortable with the color combo.

My only doubt concerns the rims.

I am hoping to give the car a classy look and I think that the SC rims add a slightly retro "feel" look which I like.

Personally I like it! I really like the retro style with Porsche's

Even the Lime Green Metallic car in the video. (for example this edition in combination with the black PDLS and the black wheels. The only thing I don't like is the lime green color of leather in the interior and personally I hate the clear taillights) But this is just a matter of personal preference. I wouldn't order it myself. BUT it makes me more happy to see than for example a very standard combination. But that's just me again.
