    Well...I didn't take it. Smiley

Stefan, I get your point but you don't seem to get mine. Lesson learned.

Basically: If you loose your key and someone is using that key to enter your house, it would be OK for others to use the same key to do the same? Do I understand you correctly?! Sorry, not my mentality.

Christian, I get your point very well. You made a promise, you'll keep your promise, that's the way it should be and I would do the same anytime! Smiley

But, if I read what you write after "Basically", I think you don't understand me at all. Smiley

Your comparison with a lost key is wide of the mark. Nobody lost something here, what has been done, has been done on purpose.

Driving a Carrera GT is basically the same as driving a Ferrari or a Lamborghini or any other exotic: you will get attention, wherever you will drive, whether you like it or not. People who buy such cars are normally very well aware of that, at least they are used to it. Maybe some or maybe even the majority of them want exactly that: attention. At least if I showcase my car on a sunny Sunday afternoon in a public place as in the pic above, I want to attract attention. I want to show (off to) the crowd with their smartphones, I want to show (off) what I got.

Otherwise you would choose a non public area or you choose a different car or you won't participate at such events. So I don't get the point about privacy here. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. Smiley

Now let's stop this, like I said...lesson learned.

Here is something that came in the mail yesterday.

Together with the latest version of the 918 brochure/booklet, and a personally signed letter from the President and CEO of Porsche Car Canada bragging about the Ring time and the crystal 918 is something to easy the wait on the car.

I think I am going to meet him personally next Wednesday. My local dealership moved and is having a grand opening, was told all the big wigs from Porsche Canada is going to be there and specifically asked to meet all those who have ordered the 918.

And I will, at least get a test drive in about a month's time.

Porsche is hosting a driving event in Palm Springs next month, Nov 26th. The 918 will be on hand.

I am not quite their top customers, only bought 4 over the years not counting the 918, I am just the sucker that fell in love with the 918.

But on the topic of how Porsche treats me, I noticed the crystal was chipped and damaged during shipping, little ones that I didn't noticed at first. Told my dealer about it this morning and a couple hours later got a reply saying a new one is already coming my way.

As far as I know, all 918 customers are considered VIP customers and unlike some other car brands, Porsche takes their VIP customers very seriously. Smiley

Well, maybe NOW they do.  In the Carrera GT days, not so much -- if you were a PCNA CGT customer.

I have the feeling that German Porsche customers get very good treatment.  Being a USA Carrera GT customer was quite disappointing in 2004.

And, my 918 personal concierge has completely disappeared after I asked some questions that he found inconvenient to answer.

Re: 918 latest news Thread Closed

Just came back from the grand opening of my local Porsche dealer's new place.

Had a VERY interesting conversation with Bernhard Maier, and Alexander Pollich, President and CEO of Porsche Cars Canada and a few other big wigs. They are still testing the 918 at Nardo last week, Bernhard had a drive there.

Summary: 887 doesn't always equal to 887. 6:57 also doesn't equal to 6:57. There are a few cards still up the sleeves. About the best I can describe as there is no official word out yet.

No, I'm not on Porsche's PR payroll or any other roll. I'm a good customer and Porsche treats me very well. Of course this could also be related to what I do on Rennteam but there is no official tie to Porsche I'm afraid. Smiley

Latest performance number that I was told earlier and confirmed by a second source not too long ago:

    0-100 < 2.6

    0-200 < 7

    0-300 < 20

strong rumor on another 10 secs to be found on a certain famous track somewhere in Germany

Yes, I will be there on the 26th. I think I am in the late 4-7pm session, would be a tight squeeze to make the 12:30pm one as my flight lands at 11:15

You don't even know the shit storm happening in McLarenLife  about the P1 :)

There is ONE member defending the P1 which he has ordered while vultures, including yours truly, circling around waiting for a big meal. The discussions has has around P1 vs 918's hybrid power train and how they works and the performance it adds. Think the current tally is like 5 threads with like 30+ pages.
