Congrats RC!! Did you post your specs/options in a previous post?
I went back and forth on "model designation delete" on my to be built Carrera S, finally decided just to keep the full designation. What made you decide to keep the full designation if I may ask as a lot of people say it is too busy?

I'm not sure if I posted specs/options but I will do that as soon as the car arrives at my dealer and as soon as I can provide some pictures. Exterior color is Agate Grey Met. and interior is Black/Carrera Red Bi-Color. I will provide more details later on.
What made me keep the full model designation? Well, I'm not a friend of the Porsche and model designation lettering on the rear, especially not in silver (I usually have this stuff painted in black but it wasn't available from the factory). This time, I just didn't want to "hide" anymore, people should know what car this is. As I mentioned before, my neighbors finally got used to my Porsche cars, so I don't have to fool them anymore. I do not drive to work in it (which would be insane), so no issues here either. If I don't like the lettering on the rear, I can always remove it (which I probably will do at some point because I really love black lettering instead of silver). I also ordered the model designation stickers in black on the doors, very subtle. Just in case someone wants to race me at a red light (not a fan of that).

Congrats on the birth of your rocketship, I'm sure it 'll be a blast!
Well, I'm afraid my car is born but went straight to the incubator.
I don't know what is going on but the car has been pulled off the production line on Friday, it wasn't ready (the person who informed me apparently didn't know that). Either a part is missing or they pulled the car for quality reasons or a more thorough random quality check.
No matter what the reason is: If the car doesn't go "out" today, it is very unlikely I will be able to pick up on Saturday because we have a national holiday on October 3rd. Oh boy...
My son will be devastated...let's just hope that it is only a minor glitch and the car arrives in time. However, if it doesn't leave the factory today, well...chances are not very high that it gets here in time.
Still waiting for a phone call to confirm that the car is exiting the factory this evening but my hopes are pretty low.

they are probably fitting a new higher powered turbo for their most important customer ...
Even more powerful? Nah.
Kidding aside: I just hope it is nothing serious.

When I took a tour of the Leipzig factory a few weeks ago, they mentioned that some random cars are put through a total quality audit that takes a small extra time. IIRC, it wasn't even as much as a whole day, maybe 6 or 7 hours. They also said that not even the dealers know which cars were examined.
I suppose the same applies to cars made in Zuffenhausen.

RC, probably PAG knows it's you car and they want to make sure all it's perfect :) .. Or maybe they will fit in the infamous 3rd turbo in you car as a plus...
Please tell you son he is not alone. We are all waiting on your car.

An extra quality audit might seem painful when you are awaiting delivery, but what an added bonus
As far as the neighbors go, you might not be getting a paycheck from Porsche; but you actually do work for Porsche as far as one's personal influence goes
With all confidence that you will give the car an appropriate break in time while not actually driving it to work which could amount to weeks before we get a real performance report, just imagine the frustration from your listening audience. It might make your current frustration a little easier to bear, just use more imagination

Mike, this is actually my last hope I am going with.
I am going to get a call this evening if the car exited production or not.
If not, chances are very slim that I am going to get it by Saturday (Oct. 3rd national holiday and all).
Like I said before, I just hope it is nothing serious. Right now nobody has a clue why the car has been taken off the production line, which could be a good thing (if there was a serious problem, I would know by now).
Let's hope for the best.

Congrats RC - turning 50 on Monday so I am taking my turbo out for a long drive this weekend! I will be thinking of you! Can't wait to hear what it is like.
Sorry guys, slight thread hi-jack, but have to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Leawood! or should I now say Leawood five ohh

last minute factory collection at Zuffenhausen?
Good idea. There is only one problem: There is a delivery embargo until Oct. 5th (and yes, some have already violated it, I know but my dealer won't and Porsche won't do it either), which is a Saturday. On this particular Saturday, my son celebrates his birthday (he actually is born in September but we had to delay his birthday party because school started and his friends didn't have time) and it was/is a lucky co-incidence that I was supposed to pick up my Turbo S at the dealer on this particular Saturday. Of course I could take a train to Stuttgart and pick the car up in Zuffenhausen (if the car is ready) but this would mean that I miss my son's birthday party, which is impossible.
I'm afraid I will have to wait until next week, unless the car has a serious problem or unless Porsche finds a way to bring the car to the dealer until Wednesday afternoon. Thursday is a national holiday and the mechanics need Friday to prepare the car for delivery on Saturday.
So if the car isn't ready by this evening or tomorrow morning...well...

You must be getting used to this by now - I remember the problem, and subsequent delay, you experienced with the Panamera...
The upside is that your car will be guaranteed perfect from day one - so no re-visits to your dealer needed to fix minor issues...

Please do not remind me. It was really a shocking experience...until Porsche (not the dealer) jumped in and "fixed" it.
Yes, my Panamera was just perfect and very fast but I didn't expect anything less...after a six week wait.
Btw: I just got the phone call, my car is still out of production, nothing new. So let's hope that it exits production tomorrow. If not, well...bye bye weekend delivery. No word on the reason.

I welcome my new "baby" into this world.
Now another week until arrival...
I will post photos in this thread as soon as I pick up my car.
Congratulations!!! The Turbo S is the best overall car on the planet IMO.... I know it, you know it!! :-))

Some cars are already delivered to the dealers. On saturday, I saw a black Turbo S at the Porsche Center Soest, Germany. Looked good
Cars appeared at dealers last week but there is a (customer) delivery embargo in place until Oct. 5th.
Some customer cars are displayed in the showroom until Oct. 5th, others are kept hidden (which is kind of weird but maybe some customers don't want to put their cars on display for various reasons).
My dealer is actually waiting for my car, so they can show it off to potential customers but I guess there won't be much time for the showing off when the car arrives.
