I cannot miss my son's birthday party, also I am driving with them (out of the competition ) because he loves it. We already planned a father/son afternoon after the birthday party (only two hours), so no problem here. Unfortunately I have to break in the car, so it is going to be a very relaxed driving.

I suspected that much... I am surprised. I thought you like debadging cars...
Not necessary (this was always for my neighborhood). Right now almost everybody seems to believe I work for Porsche, so they do not comment anymore. Had so many different Porsche cars in my garage over the past couple of months, the neighbors seem to be OK with it now. I never said something about working for Porsche, so if they believe it...well...I won't be stupid to correct them.

Mike, I'm afraid this number frame would only indicate that I bought my car at Porsche Werkswagen Verkauf. Yes, Porsche employees have sometimes these number frames too but usually, they come with Porsche cars sold to customers.
I have some "Erprobungsfahrzeug" (test car) stickers, for fun only but I'm afraid it would turn into something more serious if I would use them. People take a lot of stuff serious, so I need to be careful. Especially with neighbors.

Almost there RC ...... !! Congrats !
I am sure your son will enjoy it as much as you will, indeed what a nice B Day surprise. My son is also asking me daily if I now anything on my car.... but we know it will be produced end of Nov (23rd or so) .... counting my days too.
saludos ! Prost

What is typical from a build perspective from a timing perspective? For instance; if one had say an October build and the car was ultimately being sold to the customer from an East Coast U.S. dealer what would the arrival date and thus the pick up date of the car be if the build happened late in October or early in October?

Hank:
What is the build process at a very high level start to finish? My 10 year old daughter asked me how long it would take to build my new car and I couldn't really answer her.
It depends on how many Exclusive options your car has. Usually, the build time is between three days and ten days, depending on how complicated the production is but it may take even longer.
It is really difficult to say, I suggest watching the 911 production episode from iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/tv-season/porsche-911/id652929733?i=661456655 . Maybe you find it somewhere on YouTube too.

Atzporsche:
Wow congrats, amazing car!! Did you trade in the Panamera?
Thank you. I gave away the Panamera, my dealer had a customer for the car, I was lucky.

...I guess y're counting the seconds till delivery.
Many congrats
Thanks again, guys.
Yes, I actually started to get nervous (surprisingly, I didn't have the same feelings when I expected the Panamera, so it seems I'm really a 911 type of guy). I don't know yet when my car is going to arrive at my dealer but it will happen very fast after it exited production (Friday), so I am hoping for a delivery today or early next week. Oct. 3rd is a national holiday here, so if it doesn't arrive at the dealership until Wednesday, I am going to be in trouble. Next Friday would still be OK though but the poor guys at the dealership would have to work an extra shift to make the car ready for a Saturday Oct. 5th pickup.
I just can't wait...
