I will be October 3 in Frankfurt, and have the afternoon free. Already tried to book a factory tour in Stuttgart but seems to be a public holiday. Does anyone known if the Porsche dealership in Frankfurt will be open and have a Turbo on display? Any suggestion on what to do? Thanks 

October 3rd is a national holiday in Germany, not much to do I'm afraid. 

There are no launch cars in Germany, only the Turbo S will be available (Turbo earliest November) and since most dealerships don't order a Turbo S as a dealership car (too expensive, Turbo S customers want to configure their cars to their liking), it is very unlikely that a German Porsche dealer would have a car on display (maybe in Stuttgart Zuffenhausen but since there is a national holiday...not even sure if the Porsche museum is open). 

First customer ordered cars arrive at dealers around end of September/early October, so if you are lucky, a dealer could have a customer car in his stock but not very likely on public display. Also again...same problem...national holiday.

I pick up my car on Oct. 5th (registration is happening on Oct. 4th but since there is a delivery embargo until the 5th...) and we celebrate my son's birthday on the same day, so even if you were still in Germany on the 5th, I wouldn't be able to meet with you. Are you going to be close to Stuttgart on Oct. 6th?

It you are willing to drive 2,5 hours, you could go to a swiss Porsche Zentrum in Basel or Zürich on the 3rd of october, but I'm not sure if they have the cars on display at that time. 3rd of october isn't a holiday in Switzerland... Though 4th of october is...

Yes there is...   Porsche Zentrum Zug, situated in Cham. It's my local PZ ;)

The adres is:

It's on the road to Zug. You can't miss it, coning from the A4a you take exit 2 and then drive to Zug. It's on the left side of a major intersecion.

It depends which route you take from Heidelberg to Zurich.

I may be at Lake Garda that weekend though (during the week is impossible, I have to work and the car is locked away). I could be at my dealer around the 14th (Monday?, only day I could take off), which is close to the Autobahn but I'm not sure if this is the route you are taking. Just PM me a couple of days before you arrive in Heidelberg, maybe we can figure something out. With some luck, my dealer could even have a GT3 on display.

This is how I ended up at the end. I again saw another 991 on the road the other day with similar colors and looked fantastic. It will be a unique car for sure. My car will be completed on week 47 ... So looks like an ETA around week 1 or 2 ... what a way to begin the new year !  

Question for those with a lighter bi-color interior: Is there too much glare with the agate/pebble combo on the dashboard?

Congrats, very classy choice. Not sure however about the glare, light dashboard colors tend to create more glare than darker colors.

An update: My car was born Nov 29.... and "order ready for invoicing" shows Dec 2 .... My dealer has absolutely no clue when the car will be shipped  ..... Today they tell me that all employees at Porsche AG are now in holiday break and I should hear more first days of January.... So my car will be sitting at a PAG parking lot for over a month .... wonder if any of the guys at export department still work these days???

It is true, the factory basically closed for aprox. two weeks, only a few people are keeping things up and running.

I love black wheels but only with black or a light exterior paint colour eg white, silver, grey, yellow etc.

Who says British only want elegant colours? And what does 'royalty' have to do with sports cars???

If the car was "ready for invoicing" on 2 December it should have left for the port long before the factory closed for Christmas, unless it is going to a market where the importer has to open a Letter of Credit and has failed to do so maybe? 

No company would want to keep such an expensive product in its own inventory any longer than it has to, especially over the end of its financial year.

Thanks RC and Fritz .... I agree .. But still no words yet, if it had been indeed shipped, I guess my dealer should have known by now .. Car has been paid by the dealer to PAG so that at least is not the hold up. Maybe it's just bad timing for a vessel booking going down South America.

Anyone knows when PAG export Dept resumes work? My car has now been over a month ready to be shipped to South America sitting God knows where and no news yet... Dealer says no words from Germany .. This is getting really frustrating....

Same problem here. According to my dealer they will resume work today. So hopefully, We would know the whereabout of our cars soon.

Mine since Dec 6. and i'm upset as well.

don't know about ETD but i'm assuming it was 01/15. ETA, according to the dealer would be 02/15.
