What a lot of posts to argue about silver color. It is silver, it is not even a proper color for ANY 911...
Ha!
The silver nazis are going to tar and feather you.

Silver is a colour associated with Porsche and Mercedes from the early days. Besides, it is the traditional German racing colour like red is for Italy and blue for France.
It might not be to everyone's taste but no one can deny the connection.

The top models of the modern era, the Carrera GT and the 918 have both been presented in silver, too.
And what a shame that was... It is like: we are introducing a new car but we did not know what color to use so we used silver because it is not a real color...

Or because it looks really good in silver?
What colour is your GT3 going to be ?

Lots of people gave their opinion. I gave mine. This is a forum where people post their thoughts...
Except rather than give your opinion, you claimed it as fact that silver isn't a proper colour for any 911, and felt the need to comment on other people (many of who are actually buying the car) discussing their choice of colour.

SciFrog:For a 356, maybe... For a Mercedes definitely. But silver for a modern 911 GT3?
Couldn't agree more.
A standard Carrera in silver yes, a Turbo in silver as well, but please not for a car like the GT3.
The secret of life is to admire without desiring.
IMO... silver the ONLY right colour for the GT3, although... White looks good too....And red... Or black... Sapphire blue is also a nice color! Yellow isn't too bad either...
What the heck! GT3 looks good in EVERY color. I would want one in Bentley's Passion Pink! too bad they don't do PTS on the GT3 yet...

GT silver is appropriate for any GT3 and GT2. The GT2 RS was great in GT silver with the carbon parts.
I agree that meridian and polar silver wouldn't suit these models. Rhodium? I haven't seen it in the metal yet.

guys..please..lets discuss about Pdk vs manual..this was fun..discussing now about colours is like discussing whether a brunette is better then a blonde..:)
On the subject: Today one major dealer in Southern Germany (close to the factory) immediately offered me a 991 GT3 that was originally to be delivered for october. So there are still cars out there..saying that demand is much higher then supply...Im not so sure.
By the way, there are some delays in the delivery process of the 991 GT3..for whatever reason. But a lot here is at stake...so Porsche probably played the safe card...

It sounds like you are moving a couch. Sorry, could not resist.
Regarding the color silver, it is my understanding that approximately 35% of all Porsche's on the road today are silver. Personally, I would not order silver.
BTW, it is being reported elsewhere that there are delays with GT cars. Anyone know if this is true and why?
Unfortunately I got a call from my dealer delivery would take a few weeks longer.
Too bad. Hopefully it does not take too long. He said approx oct- november delivery now.
Does anybody know why there is a delay?

Pictures are taken with my Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505 phone. I also have an ultra compact Sony DSC-TX66 with me but I can upload those pictures only Monday (no laptop with me; it's a short trip).
If you want me to take a picture with a different angle or zoom on a detail or whatever please let me know. I still have a couple of hours free today but that's it. Tomorrow I'm gone.
There is no try. Just do.
BTW RC I might know why so many people around me at Frankfurt take pictures around using their Apple tablets... Because it's so damn easy to upload them later, from your hotel room, using wifi, to a site, directly from the iPad! Yes, you could do that from an iPhone too but doing it from a device that has a bigger screen size it's more convenient. Especially when you started to perceive your iPad as your working device (your ex-laptop)...
Downloading from camera to an iPad or a laptop and upload them afterwards takes an extra step and more time... which people rather not waste...
Also remember that the vast majority of people are not tech savvy...
There is no try. Just do.
