yes, I'm a 996 owner I know friends who drive c6 and c5 those cars have cheap interior and they don't last. they all suck they squeek make rattle noises they look nice and neat only first year and they fall apart after that.
have a look at my porsche .. injoy!!

I guess 996AD is the new King of having not a clue about what he is talking about. (and cannot spell properly to boot). I have owned 7 Vettes since 1991 and never had a problem. My buddy has had 2 996TTS's in the last few years and has had nothing but problems, including one that was in the shop 8 times in one year for rattles. Is the conclusion that should be drawn is that all Porsches are problematic and all Vettes are trouble free...NO!!! ANY car can have problems. So please do not come up with the cheap interior, shabbily made BS! I own an 06 Z, have owned Porsches and driven 996TTS's many times. So I base what I say on experience. Have you ever owned a Vette or driven a 06Z???

Ronie how do you like your 06z? I'm gonna look for one to get in summer or so, i like to read fedbacks from real owners!!! So im waiting!

I have had it for 4 months, about 6100 miles on it, (of course no problems) and it is by far the greatest car I have ever owned. The acceleration is mind blowing...it has sooo much torque..it just pulls in any gear and almost any speed. My buddy, who has an 05 996TTS, said my Z is too fast!! The handling is wonderful...very neutral. Easy to drive...Easy to shift.
The car is very comfortable, not rough, and I love the HUD, the G meter, the navigation system. In my opinion, the 06 Z is, taking everything into consideration that makes a car great, the best car around!

Well said Jersey, I take 996's closedmindness to simple jealousy and denial in order to justify his own status in his mind.

Vladimir, I've got a Z so feel free to ask any questions about it. It's truly an awesome ride.

    I agree
i'm not talking about luxury, all im trying to say is quality is very low compared to Porsche

    Re: The real SPORTSCAR

you guys... you can see all kind of cars around you, that's right,
but i meant corvettes, mustanges and civics usually hang out together and gather in McDonalds parking lot..
that because they are the same class cars .. get it ?

How in the world are a $50000 sports car, $30000 muscle car, and a $15000 rice rocket in the same class of cars? Using that logic a $70000 sports car (911) would be in the same class as well. Seriously 996 you amaze me with the stuff you come up with. When in the world have you EVER seen Corvettes and Civics sitting togther in a McDonald's parking lot except by coincedence. High school kids drive Civics 996, whereas the average Corvette owner is a professional or retired, when was the last time you saw those two demographics hanging out?

bondmid003, you shouldn't assume that your Virginia perspective is typical for the whole wide world.
A McDonalds parking lot in an oil-rich Arabian Gulf state might look a lot different to what you are accustomed to, and I think that 996AD is more likely to be at home there than in Europe, as you had obviously assumed.

    Re: The real SPORTSCAR

I told you not to reply bondmid003. You won't get any kind of logical response.

Nice video, looks like a real life version of Gran Turismo. But what was your point 996? The corvette in this video is not even a C5 Z06 let alone a C6 Z06 which is the subject of this thread. If your point was to show that a 996 TT is superior to the Z51 then you proved it...now if you want to see what the new Z can do, google for the video of a Z06 and Gallardo street racing on a highway (albeit illegally).

I apologize 996 if you're not from Europe, and I was referring to what I see everyday at McDonald's parking lots in the US. If they're radically different in the Middle East then I'm mistaken.

Bondmid....this 996AD dude comes off as a snob with popinjay tendancies. I have no problem sitting on a McDonalds parking lot talking cars with dudes who have ricers. There is much to be gleaned from these guys.
Furthermore, I hang out at an event once a month here in LA, where we all get together and shoot the bull...Vettes, F Cars, P Cars, ricers, Mustangs, Lambos, Bentleys, you name it...and we all enjoy eachothers company and eachothers cars. And, oh by the way, ask 996AD how the P-Cars and the Vettes did this past weekend at Sebring!

    Re: The real SPORTSCAR

I know I shouldn't let him bother me but you know how it is when that one guy just gets on your nerves.

That's what they want you to do. The taunting and ridicule is done on purpose for 2 reasons (1) to hopefully get you banned from the forum for saying something inappropriate (2) to make corvette owners look ignorant. It's obvious and quite easy to spot. It's a desperate attempt for sure. I thought we were hear to talk about great sportscars

Hey, if you from VA, a few of us will be down at Summit Point Raceway in May. You should sign up for our track event and bring out the Z.

    Re: The real SPORTSCAR

Maybe the McDonalds comment was meant to be a compliment. He was saying you Vette owners are descent, down to earth people who can always spare time to talk to fellow car enthusiasts.

Seriously, anyone who still thinks the Corvette is a cheap, low quality sportscar that can only drive fast in a straight line has obviously never driven the C6 ZO6 and obviously missed Sebring.

    Re: The real SPORTSCAR

Judging by your custom Rennteam title (Master of Vogele h.c.), I suppose you are the guy who has the honor to try out your Z06 against my 997 Turbo around July.
I also got us a Gallardo SE in for this tryout and I'm sure that "somebody" in his tuned 996 Turbo will join us too. It'll be fun.

Ahhh... now that's what I like to hear!
A true sports car shoot-out done by none other than members of the board!
Look forward to hearing about these results... till then let's keep it civil guys!

I'd love to but i'm no where near good enough of a driver to take the Z to a track yet. I should probably sign up for a driving school its just hard to find time.

    Re: The real SPORTSCAR

We have novice groups and everyone has an instructor. It is very safe, and you do not need to push your Z just because it is fast. You are taught in a classroom and then shown proper car control on the track. Years of doing this has made me a much safer driver on the street as well. Once you do a HPDE with you Z, life will NEVER be the same.

If anyone living in the NJ, DE, PA, VA, NYC area is interested just shoot me a PM. Here is a link to the track.
