    Possible...even very likely but I just love it to return the car to the lease company without having to care about anything. No resale value worries, no selling worries, no worries about the seriousness of the potential buyer, no worries at all. Yes, the lease is usually more expensive overall but it gives me a peace of mind I really love.

    Leasing enables the manufacters to hide the loss a purchased vehicle might accumulate in the initial years. i don't believe luxury sedans would sell in any significant numbers if it weren't for those leasing rates as they do not need to match the loss over the same period of time. Still far better than giving the same rebate on MSRP as it would further water down resale value.

    By the way - in Stuttgart its a huge put-off to see lots of Porsche workers and employees driving those cars on dumping costs. Owners which never could afford such a car driving it (as part of their comp package). Why should someone afford to pay 130k€ if the other guy drops his kids in the kindergarten in the same car and just pays as little as 100€ monthly for it (+ tax for monetary benefit)?

    Are you very sure about that? I know these prices from other German manufacturers and the monthly payment would relate to about ten times the figure. I could rather imagine that those numbers are part of an employment contract and therefore result in such a low number. I would be very surprised if the common worker at Porsche's assembly plant can get employment-leasing for such a price.

    Most workers at Porsche drive Opel, Audi, VW and similar cars. Only the upper management (and maybe some well paid engineers, specialized workers, etc.) drive Porsche, the upper management more likely as some sort of comp package/business car, the others probably at reduced (buying) cost. I'm not aware of special lease offers from PF for employees but I don't really know too much about this kind of stuff. Also don't forget insurance and maintenance cost, I doubt that the regular worker can afford that, even at lower rates.

    The only sane way to buy a 991 is used. They are just ridiculously priced now. I just spec'd a decent one and it came to $140K even without the powerkit.

    Might as well buy an R8, or even a used R8 V10.

    Yes, unfortunately they have reached a pretty high pricing level but nethertheless, I see almost more 991 now over here in Germany than 997 or even older models, which is surprising.

    Epic depreciation for 991 coming, at least compared to previous 911s. I bought a new 996 for $90k and sold i 4 years later for $60k. Good luck now...

     

    On the  other end a 4.5 year old Cayenne TTS has lost over 65% of its value...

    The 993 was the last 911 with decent depreciation (without buying a special low production model).

    Exactly. Smiley I also have to admit that the first 996 Carrera I had, it replaced my 993 Targa, was a blast to drive compared to the 993, which felt like a supped up VW Beetle. Smiley

    Yes and no. I actually enjoyed the instrument cluster of the 993 and missed it in the 996 but with the 996, a new era started for Porsche and the latest 991 interior is actually the most beautiful one in my opinion. Also a bit boring though, perfection isn't always...perfect. I like the Cayenne interior most and have to say that I wish Porsche would have introduced some sort of digital instrument cluster, maybe even a choice of speedo designs to choose from (from classic to modern).
