Found this clip on the floor of the passenger side of my 991S this morning. Any suggestions on what it could be from?

The dealership has no idea where they are from and is contacting Porsche and sending them pictures for help.

I would just like to place my bet that it is a retainer for underdash wiring.

I accept your bet, based on the reasoning that a metal clip would not be used for wiring due to danger of chafing the insulation and the fact that metal is a conductor. Smiley

Agreed, plastic would be a better retainer, but let us just see how it plays out. Let the $0 gentelmans bet go on.

While looking for where the first one came from I saw the second one come out. It is somewhere between the bottom outside of the glove box and where the airbag in the foot well is.

Exactly the same thing happened to me too.
I was sitting in traffic waiting for the lights to turn green when the first one felt off (also making a sound).
It was pretty funny because the engine was off (auto start-stop was active) so the car was very quiet and out of the blue I heard the "boing" sound very clear and the clip hit me.

Next day the second one felt off too so I went to the service guys and I got the EXACT same reaction from them as you did: we don't know what it is. They claim they asked Porsche but no answer still...

Sounds similar to the Cayennes headlights detaching from the fenders on early production cars (locking assembly recall), which is actually good for reducing weight at no cost angry
