I'd be very surprised if it is a different engine but I can ask.
I'm driving in car 75, 991 GT3 RSR, today was important as I had to do my 10 mandatory laps to cary on next week, mission accomplished despite the difficult conditions. It got dryer towards the end of the day and we put on slicks, awesome track. The 991 is the quickest GT which is surprising, 291 kmh I think or something like that.
Porker, text me when you get there, we'll hang out during qualifying, I'll get you in our box, the race will be too hectic. We are in box 56.
The atmosphere is epic, and this is only the test day.
Living the dream, drove the McLaren F1 GTR to Le Mans, lent it to the museum because they wanted some artcars for the presentation of the New OAK racing car and then it will stay at the musee des 24h for the summer.
EPIC, to drive to Le Mans in a car that did 24h in 1995... to take part in the 24h of 2013. I need a reality check.
PS: The P1s, Audis, Toyotas and Rebellion and F... Fast! And you can't see shit once they overtake you in the rain with their massive diffuser. So impressive!
Very cool. You must be a really good driver just to even be there...
Bonne chance

Thanks but not really to be honest, currently a massive 12" behind Manu's best time which is not good enough, the objective for a track like Le Mans is to be 3 to 5" behind him. If Seb and I can sustain that rythm for 24h, we have a good chance to perform well. I know what I have to do to improve anyway and there will be plenty of free practice and qualifying to work.
Every driver has to pass the maximum time test during qualifying anyway, i.e. we have to be within 10% of the fastest time set in your category, in my case GT cars. Last year the Pole was in 3'55".
That means a Maximum time of 4'18'5. Should be ok but still, need to be focused.

Fantastic news Futch. All the best for the race and having seen you win the class here in Dubai, I am sure you will find the speed at La Sarthe. I look forward to follow you during the race.

Audi oil burners so dominant still though! Looking forward to 2014's level playing field - unlimited engine capacities and no air restrictors... The best car will win instead of the car that happens to have arbitraged the balance of performance rules...
Surely Audi will have little real advantage over Porsche given that the rules are so massively different: not only thowing open the engine rules (or thowing away the rule book) but weight, width, driver position, fuel capacity... Just about everything. Audi really have to start from scratch again like Porsche don't they? But Porsche havent have to share their development with a 2013 effort..?
