Could you please PM me your Ferrari source, as i am about to sign a contract for the F12 with a mutch higher price level. 230 k would be a bargain to import

Car had a new price tag of 275k (don't remember the precise number anymore but it started with 27) EUR, immediate delivery cash deal 230k EUR. Color was bianco something (white), interior black with brown (nero something). The car was in dealer stock, it was a take it or leave it deal, brokered by my bank guy (don't laugh). This was a couple of months ago. This was not a car for order! New price tag in Germany for standard car (no options) is 265 or 268k EUR, don't remember precisely. This includes 19% VAT.

Well then it Looks like a special occasion, maybe Import from Dänemark to Germany, or do you know the reason of discount..  If you spec your own car, you easily hit 300k euros, also a lot off stock ones are around 300k euro on mobile.de

looks like i am not that lucky as you by finding a "cheap" deal on the f12, but i can spec it to my wishes

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

I wasn't lucky (being able to buy the car would have meant lucky ), my bank guy offers me similar deals from time to time, the car was a German car from a German dealer (actually one of the largest dealers here) but he wanted to get it off his stock as fast as possible (according to my bank guy). Maybe he needed the cash (unlikely, considering the dealer size) or he wanted to get rid of the car for other reasons but it was not an import, this is what the sales person told me at least half a dozen of times when I visited them. I haven't checked the options on that car, maybe it was pretty basic, I was just amazed by the look and feel and it really looked good in white.

Had a similar good deal for a Lamborghini Gallardo, including an amazingly good lease deal which tempted me a lot but like I said before, not really OK for my social environment I'm afraid. I'm also more of an Aventador type of guy and this is one I cannot really afford, both financially and socially.

No...Weissach testcars have LB license plates.

There are no dealer cars yet.

I've attempted to make the same point several times with varying degrees of success - fast driving is less and less rewarding with truly capable cars.  Some of the most fun I've ever had driving was with a 1949 MG-TC owned by an old friend.  There was nothing fast about that car and at normal city speeds the car slithered around diabolically but entertainingly.  The 1934 MG K3 he also owned was simply diabolical.  I was in that contraption when we hit 100 mph on an expressway weaving from lane to lane.  There's a real sensation of speed when your elbow is a mere handspan away from the tarmac.

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

Not a fan of older cars, so I can't say I enjoy driving them. I understand that a 991 Carrera S may be more fun than a 997 Turbo but a 997 Carrera S? No way. I owned a 997 Carrera S and then a 997 Turbo and trust me, the 997 Turbo was ten times more fun.

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

I had both a 997 Carrera S and 997 Turbo, and I felt that the Carrera S was more fun at low speeds, and the 997 turbo was more fun at higher speeds.

Try a prewar sports car some time.  I would never suggest using an older car, even a decade old car has many limitations when compared with today's cars, for more than an occasional use.  They are death traps; however, with a very low limit, they are easily driven at the edge.  It's the exhilaration of having car that is like the biggest, baddest, fastest roller coaster.

I have no experience with the 991, so I can not say.

The 997 turbo is very fast but quite dull at the same time, specially when you don t have enough space in front of you to push it hard due to traffic or the configuration of the road.

So in a way, the turbo can be more fun on empty roads, but on a daily basis, on your way to work and back, or even for week end activities, I do not find the turbo more fun. Smiley

That said, I have never owned a porsche. My experience is limited to a few drives on different occasions.

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

Found this in black! Seems to be the production car with LB-plates and debadged. Not fan of the all black on black and the 991 turbo for sure looks better in light colors. Need to have conrast with wheels to look good, but I know that's a separate discussion on it's own smiley

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

These exhaust pipes are sooo ugly! mail

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

Black might be an advantage to someone who wants to stay under the radar, and keeps it closer to a standard Carrera. Makes it look smaller.

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

I feel the front lacks the agression of the rear, feels like two different cars, visually... yes

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

The turbo looks kind of boring.  Especially black.  Maybe guards red would look great.

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

Does anyone know, if there is an option for the side air intakes to be painted in exterior color?

    --

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

There is something odd about this car. The wheels look like the cayenne sport edition painted wheels and painted wheels are not an option on the turbo at least not in the US. also the exhaust tips look differently shaped than the pictures on the porsche site, the outer tips looks more elongated and thinner than the official pics, maybe there are some exhaust tips missing on the black car?

black is still my first choice so far, under the radar is sometimes good to be....but not with these ugly black wheels, the stock silver/grey wheels will fit much better with a black car.

surely black I would also option-out ! Dark-grey seems to be the choice of many on all sorts of cars right now and I would have to agree ! Love flat-grey !

I got a meteor grey cayenne S hybrid loaner over the weekend and i noticed that the color is very annoying while driving since the hood looks exactly like the color of the road/pavement ahead, no contrast at all. also, it seems that every other in CA is now some shade of grey and this color is becoming almost too popular.

my black (non metallic) 997 turbo looked great in person and i see no reason why the 991 turbo wont be the same, i dont know what you guys think but my problem with the lighter colors on the 991 is the the thin painted area of the front lip that makes the lip look flimsy and weak, a black car wouldnt show the lip as too thin and would be continuous with the black front spoiler.

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

I agree, with the contrast on light colors, it's why I always paint the surfaces that are plastic to match body color or get some type of kit from Techart.  Love the way black looks but having owned many before my last white car, I can say no more black for me, just shows too much dirt for me.

    First post here.

Specced last week the Launch Edition, White TTS with Black/Red interior, all leather upgrades, standard Bose.

It will be daily driver instead of F12 that I am cancelling,Porsche just makes much more sense for daily use in Chicago climate.

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

Congrats, that's sure going to be one amazing machine!!   Smiley

Congrats! Enjoy it in good health. I agree with the climate, don't know if you mean the weather (awd) or the atmosphere with daily driving an exotic, either way the Porsche is the way to go. Stealth mode.

I meant the AWD in Winter.

Not so sure about the "stealth mode", I'm afraid it may look a bit too flashy in White.

My deadline for any changes is May 31.

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

I have about 30 days before I finalize my Turbo S spec. Currently Agate Grey and red/black, but keep second guessing self and thinking all black interior better choice.  Any strong opinions on interior would be appreciated.

I'm in the same boat as you are trying to decide between the black vs black / carrera red interior.  I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've compared them both on the configurator.  Smiley

At the end of the day the all black is far more rich / luxurious / elegant looking.  The black / red is just freaking hot and exciting and makes a very bold statement!!!!   It's a deeply personal preference and it makes it all the more difficult without being able to see some really nice pics to help the decision..

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

Black is too "standard" for me, unless you get some deviating stitching or some colored gauge appointments.  Carbon might help as well.

You might consider Expresso as a compromise.  Fabulous choice IMHO.
