According to the technical specs, it was the 625 hp version but maybe they updated the technical specs for ALL articles, even the older ones?!

Quite positive in my opinion...if you ignore the fact that a 911 Turbo will never be a loud and exotic ride, simply because the typical owner/driver doesn't want it. I have to say however that a slightly louder exhaust (from the outside) wouldn't hurt but the reason for the lack of it (sound) is that Porsche cannot get it louder (sound emission law), while McLaren, as a smaller manufacturer (with less strict regulations), has an easier stand here.

I am pretty sure that third party exhaust manufacturers will take care of the sound, if needed.

Yes, I am very impatient too. My car is going to exit production on Sept. 27th but I won't be able to get it before Oct. 5th since there still seems to be a delivery embargo in effect until Oct. 5th.. Smiley

I was supposed to receive mine in November (1st shipment in my city) . However, just few days ago i decided to delay the order and wait for the confirmation for the reverse camera. all my dealer know that they will be a reverse camera option but for now no info when it will be available.

The rear view camera should be available earliest with mid November production cars.

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

The Parking Assist with Reverse Camera is now an option in the U.S. configurator.  My build date is 11/8, wonder if that can be added without pushing the date back.

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

    KresoF1:

Now, back to something interesting-few members here asked about 0-300km/h time for new 991 Turbo S. I asked directly my P source and got this-33s. Yes, 33s... He told me: what do you expect for 560ps car?

BTW, he also told me that latest MP4-12C examples are producing at least 640ps. AMS measured one in latest issue 0-200km/h: 9.3s

Thats what my source told me aswell 32sec. But according to Rc my source is either god or not existing. So i think your source must be god aswell

you are indeed right for a 560hp car Even with 580hp it is getting close to hit the 30 secs. Unless you have 7 driving gears, but according to vids 6the gear goes somewhere to 330kmh+ and 7th gear to Nirvana..

still does some one have the official gear ratio with the relevants Speed of the 991 turbos

I have a build date (when the car exits production) of Sept. 27th.. Any change to the order would result in pushing it back, thus delaying the car production. This may have something to do with the first batch but before you ask your dealer to change something in your order, make sure your production slot doesn't get pushed back to a later date.

In Germany, the rear view camera should be available for builds after mid November. I actually think this is valid for all cars, no matter what region they have been ordered from. Your dealer should be able to get more details and if he can add the rear view camera without delaying the build date, the better.

Checked with my dealer,he said there was absolutely no problem for him to install Porsche OEM backup camera and connect it to Nav screen.

Told him to go ahead and do it immediately after car arrives...

Same here, I will do nothing which could delay the car delivery. Smiley

Speaking of the Porsche OEM camera: Your dealer can promise all he wants. If the parts aren't available (and there will be a shortage at the beginning since they need them for building new cars), your dealer cannot install the camera. Just keep that in mind if he cannot hold his promise, it wouldn't be his fault. Also keep in mind that the retrofit requires, to my knowledge, the presence of the park assist option.

I do not like the Sport Classic wheels either, don't know why.

So far, I think that the Turbo S CL wheels look best but I wish I could get them painted in black. Smiley

I actually like the new GT3 wheels most but I'm not so sure how they would look on the new Turbo. Anybody talented enough to try a Photoshop job? Smiley

Very nice review indeed. Everybody seems to love the brutal acceleration. Smiley

Also interesting (finally a review mentioning it): The real life fuel consumption. 16l / 100 km. Yes, they drove on the Autobahn and accelerated quite often, so the fuel consumption is quite impressive (low) but it is nowhere near the factory claim of under 10 liters average. I personally experienced around 14-16 liters, didn't get to drive top speed though. I think that the new 991 Turbo S eats up aprox. 2 liters less on average than the "old" 997 Turbo S, which is quite OK considering the additional 30 hp power bump. This is even less than the fuel consumption I encountered on the 991 Carrera S Cab I had for a weekend. Since I will drive my 991 Turbo S with Sport Plus active all the time, I expect an average fuel consumption of 16-18 liters / 100 km.
