Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

    chuckb:

Anyone know what the different wheels weigh?

Forget about the weight, as Kreso already pointed out, the weight difference is ridiculously low. Also, the higher weight of the Turbo S rim is "compensated" by the weight of the five wheel bolts used for the SC and Turbo rims.

You are not going to be a happy camper Smiley

There is always a new model around the corner and if you wait for the next model you will never get your new car. So get one while you can, enjoy it and ignore what is coming next.

From what I can gather the fuse cover is there, but this is the new  Transparent Option (PTFC) by Porsche Exclusive that gives a more racy and hardcore flavour to the otherwise Panamera-like interior. I will be a no cost option on the Turbo S but Turbo buyers will have to pay for it.

Thanks and FINALLY... Porsche is way behind on releasing a MF steering wheel with paddles (to the rest of the lineup that is).

these numbers suggest a 100-200 km/h of about 8s which is way too slow for the S. I think maybe those 50 launches did take a toll on the car afterallSmiley

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

Every time I drive my 991 Turbo S, mostly on weekends, it puts a huge smile on my face (as my wife and kids noticed). blush Even with winter tires and under the current road conditions, it is still fun to drive. I would really drive it all day long but as you guys know, I cannot drive to my office in it. Perfect daily driver.

picked this from 6speed forum. A powerkit for turbo s from Techart

    http://www.techart.de/en/techart-showroom/programs/fuer-911-turboturbo-s-991/aerodynamic-kit-i/engine.html

good for 620 ps and 612 lb-ft (649 lb-ft with overboost). it activates with a push of the Sport button.

The 1/4 mile figures, 10.9s/124mph are taken from actual dragstrip measurements - not vbox. Don't forget, they include 1ft rollout and various temp/air pressure adjustments. In addition, how could they have achieved a 2.6s 0-60 on a poor surface??? I personally don't believe these vbox figures very much. Time to distance is the final verdict IMO.

I trust my own experience most but of course this doesn't help others with assessing the performance of the car.

So far, none of the cars I encountered outran me, incl. the Carrera GT and a tuned 997.1 Turbo manual (claimed 550 hp). This is always the best proof. indecision

i wish you would not use such a one-dimensional measure for driving pleasure and ownership experience. we are out of the boy-racer years, are we not? Smiley 4

here is another test of the turbo S, which basically confirms the opinions of both of us: the turbo S is outrageously fast (your take) but not the most entertaining car (my take).
