    one thing i notice .. the  exhaust sound is  GOOD  .. its actually kinda loud

     

    when sport is active   i like the exhaust not when the PDK downshift  coz im slowing down .. makes me smile every time

    I told you, the exhaust sound isn't bad at all and after 5000 km or so, it is getting raunchier too. Not GT3 or Ferrari F12 good but still pretty awesome, especially compared to the very sterile 997 Turbo S sound. Yes, I drive in Sport mode most of the time, it is the most satisfying driving mode. I just wish the driver could set it as a standard mode, even in rain or snow, this mode isn't too bad and PSM works quite well.

    I didn't pay attention: Did you order Powersteering Plus for your car?

    yes i did  

    all the car i tested had it  so i went with it 

     

    dont know if its the right choice or not !

    PS

    first kill  Benz AMG  C63 and  my gear shifts were 

    1st gear 3k rpm

    2nd  -6th gear 4k

     

    not  WOT i was like 3/4

    Just keep it under 4000-4500 rpm for the first 500-1000 km. 

    Do not use launch control for at least 2000 km (recommendation is 3000 km)!

    Finally got around to taking some photos of my new 991 TTS.   I can't be happier with the color combination and the performance the car sans a little rattling cabin noise.

    there is 1 option that is not worth the price in my country  

    its worth 700$   the steering Stitching 

    it doesnt show .. i cant feel it .. the contrast isnt there ... dont know if its me only or any  one share the same feeling

    There's a steering wheel deviated stitching option in the US for about $1k USD AFAIK.  You can see the stitching.  I didn't go for many interior cosmetic options that cost more money.  To each his own.  The only cosmetic, arguable, option I added was the light design package.

    when u see it on the configuration it appear so hmmm i can say sporty and much contrast .. but in real life hmmm i cant say bad coz nothing about this car is bad :) .. but wouldent pay  for that option it should come for free with black/red interior  

     

     can some 1  tell me when im allowed to use sport plus the wait is killing me my dealer say 1000-1500 KM

    The best steering wheel to have on the 991TTS would be the CF multifunction wheel, it complements the standard CF trim and with that you wouldn't worry about stitching. I was thinking about that option as well but decided to pass since its around $1000 here (stitching is $800 and its mandatory to add $250 for steering wheel heating, totally useless in this part of the world).

    On second thought, Porsche will stitch the leather steering wheel anyways but will gladly change the stitching thread for $1000!! For me, that money went to the ruckfahrt camera!!

    Has he ever been in a Ferrari? Or a Audi R8? The new 991 electronics are so much more advanced. Almost on par with luxury limousines. They could be slightly improved, but I think he is just bad at using it.

    have you been in a last gen ferrari? i doubt it, reading this posting of yours. can you tell me what is worse in F458 electronics than in 991 electronics? in fact the ferrari is revolutionary in interior design. finally someone had the courage to take away the stalks. btw, also lambo (audi) is taking this over into the huracan.

    i had a BMW M5 before the F458 and let me say that neither porsche nor ferrari get close to the info-entertainment quality and logics of BMW.

    I totally agree,  thats why BMW is my first choice in rental cars in europe. Let me add not even Mercedes comes close!!! Connected Drive is truely a life saver when venturing in foreign territory.

    Last April, before deciding for the 991, I drove the FF and managed to sit in and switch on an F12 at Maranello.

    The navigation system for the FF is the same as the one on the Cherokee and the iPhone 5 was not yet supported on the FF. They said "in the coming months"!! angel The USB port is right underneath the navigation screen, I wonder where you are supposed to put the phone/iPod?! And with the cable running over the gear stick!

    The Audi R8 is even worse. It still has the navigation of 2007.

    The Aventador on the other hand is on par with Porsche.

    I've had a BMW 5, around 2007 (I don't remember the exact years) and the electronics were the worst I've ever had. The opposite of intuitive. I hear they have improved now. But I'm never going back to BMW, worst service and electronics I've ever had (I'm comparing with Audi, Mercedes, Lexus and Porsche).

    The best internal tech I've seen so far is Audi (S8, A7, Q7), followed by Mercedes (S line). It's a pity Porsche doesn't use all the "gadgets" Audi has (like google maps, contacts syncing with your PC, ...).

    The steering deviating stitching (I have red) is a very nice option and it is visible but I wish Porsche would add a thicker steering wheel to this option too. The stitching is quite visible though, just check out some of my early photos. Actually, Porsche should offer some sort of mixed Alcantara/Leather steering wheel with a more accentuated deviating stitching and a thicker steering wheel.

    Regarding the entertainment/navigation system: PCM is actually not bad at all, I like it more than the Navi Pro on my wife's BMW X3, even if the PCM lacks for example some internet options and the jukebox function is also a bit outdated. However, I've been told that Porsche has started a more aggressive electronics development and many new (and updated) features will be available with the next 911 generation. Not sure if this means that they work together with Audi/VW but I guess they do. The rear view camera for the 991 Turbo/S comes from VW.

    i did not try the iphone on the F12, my iphone 5S is supported on the F458, by cable and bluetooth. 

    try a new BMW model for info-entertainment, IMHO it is the best on the market.

    The latest X3 35d is not new?  Well, if one year is old for you...  It has connected drive and everything but I really don't like using it, it kind of feels weird and unnatural. I like the PCM approach, incl. the touch display, much better but I wish the PCM display would be larger, faster reacting and I also wish Porsche would finally go the internet way and offer  some more options too, like for example performance data in the PCM system, incl. recording of top speed, top acceleration, top G forces, top torque and power figures, etc.. It will come though.

    I totally agree, it's very cool, but not very user friendly in the end. However I don't have recent experiences.
    I'm sure they must have improved.
