Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

    SciFrog:

Never driven above 240kph, and no desire to on public road. Too many thing can happen at these speeds especially other drivers who don't see you...

There is something about the CayenneTT and TTS hard to explain, it is fun to drive, more fun than the Panamera IMHO. But is has to do with "this SUV can do that???" feeling.

In the US, I wouldn't drive either above 240 kph. Smiley I already get afraid at much lower speed on the I-95 each time I'm in Florida. Left, right, one is fast, one is slow, the other even faster, pure chaos on five, six lanes. Smiley

Traffic/weather adaptation, a technically perfectly fit car and not loosing attention even for a fraction of a second are the secrets to a healthy high speed driving. It is difficult to explain. Those who drive at high speed over here usually know what they are doing and paying attention to the "other" traffic is of course mandatory. Not easy to understand for people who aren't used to that, I agree. Like I said, I get more afraid driving in the US, especially in the evening hours where people seem to drive as if there are no rules, no speed limits and no particular lanes. Smiley If I would put a German highway cop to check for traffic law violations in Florida, I think 50% of the drivers would loose their license within the first day. Smiley

    Off-topic:

IMHO, no speedlimits works only if there is no "right-side-passing" allowed. It is hard enough to check the left mirror. Having no speed limit on the highway means that you have to drive in a concentrated manner, you always have to be prepared that someone tries to pass you. You learn to use your mirrors, and you trim your brain in movement estimation of other cars.

My U.S. experience is that not many people are used in "concentrated" driving, everything appears to be relaxed, until a situation comes which could have been avoided.

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

We have many "left lane bandits"  who feel it's their job to enforce the speed limit (or lower).

It is against the law to flash to get them to move over.

Does the law say anything about rocket-launchers?? If not... I know a silver Aston Martin DB3 that comes with them as standard! Smiley

I also liked the way the Sport Classic wheels looked from the photos I saw!  That's why I ordered them.  I have a GT Silver Turbo w/ Black Sport Classic wheels coming in about a month.  I'll try to post pics when it's in! indecision

If I don't like the way they look in person, I could always switch to the new Techart wheels!

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

My dealer also already delivered a 991 Turbo S Cab to a customer (he had a 997 Turbo S Cab previously) a short while ago and he told him that he loves the car (keep in mind that he owned the predecessor).

Right now, the Turbo S is in high demand (higher than expected).

I think that more dealers could use that... I see various 991 GT3s for sale on Autoscout24.ch. don't know if that is a good sign to be honest. One would expect that all GT3s that are being ordered, are already sold. Smiley

Eight TTSs arrived at the local dealer in various colors two days ago in addition to two already here, a GT Silver that was sold and a Yellow which is still unsold. Placed an order a week ago for a 991 TT (non s), January production, Agate Grey on Bicolor interior Agate Grey/Pebble Grey. My agonizing wait just started.

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

Porsche is preparing the 991 Carrera facelift right now. The 991 Turbo/Turbo S facelift is due in aprox. three years but of course it cannot be excluded that if Porsche decides to "update" the front- and/or tail lights on the Carrera models, the Turbo/S may get them too. No technical facelift for the Turbo/S though, this is going to happen in aprox. 3 years or so and expect a mild power bump (20-40 hp) but nothing revolutionary. The revolution starts with the next engine generation on the 992(?).

The facelift won't, just possible cosmetic changes due to 991 Carrera facelift but even the cosmetic changes aren't really sure yet because it could annoy current owners.

The Turbo/Turbo S facelift is planned for 2016 or even early 2017.

There also has been a rumor (from a supplier) recently about a possible powerkit option for the Turbo S but all our P-sources say this is BS.

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

My P source told me that FL for 991 Turbo & Turbo is will be MY16. Press intro will be earlier then official MY16 starts. We have still more then one year before Porsche introduce FL 991 Turbo. But... IMHO it will be little bit too soon. Porsche is almost becoming something like Samsung amoung sportscar manufactures, which I personally do not like.

BTW, will join the club soon Agate Grey with Black interior and 20" Sport Classics in GT Silver-like on black mule pics above...

Your P source is wrong this time, so don't worry. Smiley Maybe he is assuming that the Turbo models will get the 991 Carrera facelift design facelift too but not power bump or technological changes until the "real" Turbo facelift.

Btw: Welcome to the club. Smiley

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

Could be since he mentioned new MF steering wheel with paddles for 991 Turbo...

Any way I am not worried at all. Enjoying 991 Turbo now is way better then waiting for FL. There will always be a forthcoming better version of current model. Enjoy now or wait forever...

Re: OFFICIAL: 991 Turbo and Turbo S

    Nice and congrats!

YES... when are we going to get access to the new MF steering wheel (like in the 918 and Macan)?

It is supposed to come with the FL and I also heard that some of the "electronics gimmicks" (referring to the 918 entertainment/info system) of the 918 are coming too.

RC - have you heard anything about a track pack edition?  I had read a post on another thread that there was (potentially) a Turbo - non S - to be offered in a stick with track focussed concept  Have you heard of such a thing?
