A rare picture of Power

With all the excitement over the rather sedate 500hp GT3 Smiley I thought I would share this pic of my engine at its peak power during a 1 minute 35 second full power dyno run with 22 seconds from 6000 to 7150rpm, hence this is rare amongst the amateur tuning world of 8 second power runs.

This engine is basically the same as the Alzen Mission 400 engine (mine runs less boost, about 1.2bar and variocam) so it is special build 3.9 litre with proprietary RS head preparation running latest K24 type turbos and a new factory electronic controlled electronic wastegate system (borrowed from the latest generation BMW system)

Its return to me has been delayed by the very cold and bad weather southern Germany has been experiencing has made testing impossible however it should be back soon.

wow ! what are the numbers reading on the right ? 679 HP and 852 NM ? - amazing engine ! what's the warranty on it ?

indecision that would be 6760rpm and 852PS

No official warranty at these levels just a lot of trust and reputation of builder/tuner

Looks like the torque number is next, but cut off by the photo (I have a German Stahlwille torque wrench, so I've seen the German word for torque before). Do you know that figure? Very impressive! Smiley

I think you are treating PS as SAE units ? its a bit less ~ 889NM

It makes peak torque at about 4000rpm and the torque is controlled by the electronic wastegate at 900NM +/- 15NM all the way to peak power

Funny you should say that. James Watt increased the "horse power" figures he measured using his imperial nag by 10% to avoid the risk of anyone later accusing him of attributing horse-power equivalence figures to the steam engines he built which were too optimistic. Smiley
