    You could probably make it road legal, though you'd waste a bunch of money in the process. Better off buying a road legal car and stripping it bare and/or upgrading it. I don't really see the appeal of sanctioned race cars for so called track toys. Isn't it often the case that race cars are held back by rules and regulations rather than technology? Since track days don't have rules and regulations, why not get a car and go all out with it -- more hp, less weight, and whatever else you want.

    You just need to know the right people, Joost. indecision

    There obviously are road-legal 996 Cup cars on the road but, at least in certain markets, you will need to install the handbrake which is omitted on the Cup cars.
