Nah, it won't have the wart foglights, and it wont have panamera style drl's... Also, the wing will be different, and the shape of the inlets on the hips as well... wouldn't worry too much mate!
Interesting to see the new headlights. Wonder if it is partly LED or something. Looks like two projector lenses like in the 997 with dynamic lights. Also note the mirror-design, looks like the turbo will get those and not only the GT3.

Agreed - do they look vaguely similar to the Carrera GT mirrors?
Big controversy on these wheels at the moment. I received a not from Porsche saying the hubs have to be changed every 7000km at the rear or be replaced with standard wheels hub.
How stupid do you look with centerlock wheels at the front and normal wheels at the back???

I also see some similarity to the CGT mirrors and if I remember correctly, the new mirrors showed up at the Turbo mules first. They look much better than the standard mirrors IMO.

Futch,
Regarding the centre locking wheels, on which car is that? 911 or 918?
If the hubs need to be replaced every 7000 km, in my opinion that means that it is a design flaw, as the design is obviously not up to it's normal task. Reeks a bit like the first generation PCCB's if you ask me...

My thoughts exactly. mayor design flaw.
It is on the 997GT3 with center locking wheels. They are not only extremly impractical (who's got a torque wrench suitable for a 18-wheeler whith him when going to the track...) but obviously also not as durable as the regular setup. The letter from says that you have to do various maintenance task every 7000 track kilometers.
I just hope that I'll never have a puncture cause no service truck will be able to help. Oh, and to remove a wheel, you always need someone to press the breaks as you shouldn't loosen or attach a wheel while on the ground...

Dear Porsche,
When you launch the new Porsche 991 GT3 at Geneva in March 2013, please confirm that customers will be able to choose standard "5 Lug" wheels for the GT3 and GT3 RS -- at the very least available as an option!
We expect that there may be an updated version of the "Centerlock" wheels launched with the new GT3, but at this stage it appears most existing customers would like to have the option to select "5 Lug" wheels on the 991 GT3...
It would be a real shame for the launch of the new 991 GT3 to be overshadowed by the "Centerlock failure" issue...
As an aside, you will have noted that existing GT3 and GT3 RS customers are rather keen on maintaining a genuine Porsche Motorsport engine!
Thanks for your understanding and generous consideration,
From your customers and friends at Rennteam!

All cars with center lock wheels that are driven on trackdays. GT3RS, 4.0, etc.
Wow...
I guess they used the design from the racecars and applied it to the roadcars as well?
In the meantime forgetting that for a racecare it is perfectly fine to exchange weelhubs every 7000 km, whereas for roadcars it is kinda ridiculous
Not to mention that it requires expensive tools, saves no weight and requires someone to press the brakes when changing front wheels to keep them from spinning under the large required torque - big mistake...

I've just had a thought...
The top speed for the 997 Turbo / Turbo S was around 196mph, you don't think the lighter weight combined with the more aerodynamic mirrors might get the new Turbo up to the magic 200mph mark, do you?
:)

Lower weight doesn't directly affect top speed (just how long it takes to get there)

Hmmm, sounds a bit less severe already if you ask me.
If I read properly, they're stating that the hubs etc need te be replace every 7000km of accumulated track use.
That's something else than every 7000km of use...
Exactly. Something around "after approx 3,000 track laps these things need to be replaced." for even the most die-hard trackie that's something like every 3-5 years or so.

Exactly. After reading the paper I'd say the "problem" with the hubs isn't even a problem at all.

Tell that to the people who were suddenly driving with only 3 wheels at high speed...

The issue with "center lock" wheels is unfortunately real...
...which is why Porsche issued an official recall notice and is redesigning the technology!
The simplest solution is for Porsche to allow customers the option of "5 Lug" wheels on all GT models...
