    Re: BMW 4 Concept

Outside looks great, inside especially with the two cup-holders is not so stylisch!

    Re: BMW 4 Concept

I suppose it might look good to those who like BMW's recent design language. A mixed bag of a design.

The front and rear bumper have been grossly over-designed on purpose to create an impression of dynamism. This deducts points, for my liking.

Why people cannot enjoy simple designs anymore without all these superfluities cheeky

Here is one of latest spy photos:

F32 is nice improvement over E92 3 coupe IMO.

    Re: BMW 4 Concept

The weird look comes from the front and rear bumpers.

Those parts will be gone for sure on the production model. Just look at the door handels - those are also different from the latest spy shots.

Basically,It's just a concept car in those pics.

There's no way the coupe will look like a tuned japanese car.

    Re: BMW 4 Concept

    I really like it

    Re: BMW 4 Concept

The front looks stunning - the rear diffusor I have to get used to and yes the interior is to vomit!

    Re: BMW 4 Concept

trying too hard .. too fussy, overdesigned and lots of pointless details.

like someone wearing far too much jewelery

    Re: BMW 4 Concept

A lot of things like front bumper, rear diffusor, exhausts, rims, interior details, door handles.... are overdone because this is concept. Similar like BMW Gran Coupe concept and BMW 6 Grand coupe. Production car will be toned down and will look better.

For example, this is production rear diffusor:

    Re: BMW 4 Concept

Why did they fit those on the concept car, that is supposed to showcase all the good bits?

Strange thinking on behalf of BMW design studio!

    Re: BMW 4 Concept

Wow I quite love it! It looks like an amazing concept. Let me stress that once more, CONCEPT!!! That makes the front + rear bumpers are over designed on purpose.. The real car will have these lines with toned down bumpers, regular door handles and more normal rims... I think it will be a very hot coupe, just can't get used to calling it the 4er enlightened Also, does that mean the M3 is dead. I am quite close to the enthusiast community and I already know many will replace with M3 badges. Sometimes these marketing clowns are so out of touch

    Re: BMW 4 Concept

I've read some time back that when the 4er was rumoured the many M3 clubs in Germany tried to convince BMW to abandon their new naming policy. Of course no one paid attention as these sentimentalities don't count with large corporations.

    Re: BMW 4 Concept

Yes, it's BMWs 911. Could you imagine Porsche changed their 911 to 913 just for marketing purposes...

    Re: BMW 4 Concept

    No originality whatsoever...

    Re: BMW 4 Concept

The front and read bumper do look a bit gimmicky with all those lines but those are history on the production model. So I'm expecting it to be a really good looking car in production trim, the overall shape and proportion seem great. Also those front lights, and wheels on the car on the trailer look very 3 series. Maybe this 4 series concept is actually going to end up being the 3 series coupe. And I for one wouldn't complain one bit.

    Re: BMW 4 Concept

Horrible mix! I like the general shape, the headlights and the rear lights but I completely hate the side intakes and the front&rear bumpers. Looks like an aftermarket bad tuning!

    Re: BMW 4 Concept

I have same opinion about bumpers and rear diffuser on concept car. But production car will be toned down (including bumpers, exhausts, door handles, rims,...) and it will be revealed at Shanghai autoshow. With a concept we get the idea how general shape will look

    Here is F32 concept vs E92 comparison ( http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=777968 ):

    Re: BMW 4 Concept

Shakal, great picture comparison, thanks for posting. kiss

Personally I think the 4series concept has a nice shape (which isn't that difficult to achieve), but they've overdone the details, like front and rear bumper and these side out(?)lets (for what?).

    Re: BMW 4 Concept

FINALLY after decades of trying, BMW found out how to do a proper useful cup holders, no need to over engineer some stupid flimsy dash pop outs or a useless cover to hide it.

The complicated stuff is just begging to be broken, and the cover always stay opened anyway. Why bother with the excess weight when 2 simple holes is the most useful thing?

    Re: BMW 4 Concept

BMW can't do interiors in my opinion.

The 4 Coupe is an interesting concept but the front and rear are way too nervous for my taste.

What interior? Give me two gaping holes for cup holders and I will like almost anything!!

    Re: BMW 4 Concept

I love the Panamera but especially the Cayenne interior. Last time I had passengers in my Panamera, one of them said that the interior looks like in an airplane cockpit, she was quite amazed by it.

Audi also does some nice interiors (depending on the model) but Mercedes and especially BMW lack behind...a lot.
