Dare I say it...? The aesthetic balance of the 2 looks far better and well proportioned (rear with front) than the wider 4 which just looks odd (as seen on the first pic). On the previous 997 the front and wide rear aesthetics were such that the 4 wide body just looked beautiful.
It may just be the pictures and in real life it will look gorgeous... I hope so.

+ 1 . Porsche needs new designers in their department ..... or people who take better decisions
( the front sensors on the Carrera S look like after market add ones , in the Carrera 4 they have now corrected this , but have now the cyclope eye

The wider rear end of the 4 models always looked overdone to me, be it 996, 997, or 991. And it never made sense from an engineering point of view: if you're transmitting some of the power to the front, why would you need wider rear tires?
Marketing lording over common sense and functionality: rarely a good outcome...

Both problems easily solved by judicious use of the options list.

I have been very interested in how the rear end will look with the 'strip' lit up, so I found these recently while scouring Instagram.

It wouldn't be too hard to build a full sized classic Porsche reflector in there. 
Cut the bumper...
At night, lit up I think the C4 looks stunning from behind at all angles. The 991 lighting system has really been growing on me recently.

I've been at the Zurich car show last week-end and must admit it looks fantastic in real life - I like specially that it's not only a brake light but is on all the time when the headlights are on ! also the 44 mm extention make the back look very sexy. !
