From paper that the passenger holds up, I see this was the "September 29, 2012 GT R Run". This is the problem with some of the semi-organised "enthusiast" events. Some idiots just have to compete like they are on a track on roads they barely know. Crossing solid line, warp speed, no vision, crest AND roundabout approaching! Thank God no one was was coming towards him as they would have been killed.
I only go on group drives with people I know and trust.

What an idiot... look at his speed, he really is retarded. I was really worried there would be a semi in the roundabout but unfortunately Darwin's theory couldn't hold in this incident. But these guys should take it to the track to enjoy the speed in a safe manner... there were driveways and whatnot on this back road... Police, please take a look at this video and double his bills with a $15,000 fine for wreckless driving.

We had a guy like that once on our Porsche runs, lets just say he was never invited again.... he not only endagers himself but the other drivers in the group.... we have a very strict drive policy of no passing the car in front of you and no racing anyone who doesnt follow the rules is not invited back, you wanna race go find a track...

How not to limit risk - blind corners, high speed, illegal passing, narrow country roads with trees. Total rectal cranial inversion.
Just luck that he was not killed. He should lose his license forever!!! I have been on Porsche club drives where people are not being careful - one reason why I don't attend them except maybe once per year. I did not get as many miles on a 911 without incident over 30 years because I am a reckless driver - fast yes - risky, never.

Usually we let an older but good driver to take the lead and never one in the most powerful car OR the best one. This means that some of the hotheads need to go slower, even if their car is actually faster but it keeps everybody safe and sound. When we drive in a group passing other drivers from the group is completely prohibited (we have a certain order, the weakest driver is usually in front, the best one in the back), unless the driver in front of you signals to do so. It isn't always easy to maintain a certain order in the group but if you talk about this at the beginning of the group drive, people usually obey to the rules and there are no surprises. Unless of course the first driver is too good and the weaker drivers try to follow...this will never happen again (two cars crashed).
Group driving is about fun, not about competition.

Exactly RC, we went so far as having voice activated walkies attached to our seatbelts signalling when it was ok to pass another car on a mountain road, the first driver to pass would let the driver behind him know on the walkie that no cars are coming it's safe to overtake, and then he does the same for the guy behind him.....but that got a little to complicated as people would forget to charge the walkie or forget it at home haha.... but as you said, you have to be very comfortable with the people you drive with.....
