I completely agree...it is a shame that the first generation Panamera design was not based on this, which is now in the same league in terms of sophistication as the AM Rapide when it was initially introduced, making the Pana look bulbous and unattractive by comparison.
I like it , even if I do find the Panamera 's back more interesting ( because more special and different from anything that is out there , a deseign that is not obvious , that you need to study to see all the beauty in it ) . Often when it is not love on the first sight, it lasts much longer.
This new design, is much more ' general ' , and approches more what Audi could have done

Much much better, especially the back, but unfortunately the rear (and roof and doors and side panels, ct) is changed so much from the current Panamera (for the better obvioulsly) that I doubt that it will be incorporated into the facelift Panamera, were typically in a faclift, it just includes smaller details like front and rear lights, and details on the bumpers. And also the next Panamera generation is too far away, so I'm afraid that this concept's new design will have no were to go?
If its feasable to make the facelift change so much as to look like this they would hit a mayor score IMO, but thats not going to happen...

Wow that is the stunner of the show in Paris. What a lovely concept, all the way around. I also think it doesn't take away from the current Panamera at all. Somehow they made this sufficiently different. We know it's a concept so it'll most likely arrive with the next generation Panamera. But what is exciting, that means the next gen will look stunning.
Well done Porsche this concept is stunning!! BUILD IT.

From what I remember all the Porsche Concept cars materialized in some way. Even the early 90s rather extreme Panamericana buggy formed the design basis for the 993.
The Sport Turismo is a great concept to be wasted and VW/Porsche are no fools. I envisage it as an additional version of a future better looking and 5 seater Panamera, in 4 years time or round about. Perhaps it will be the first of the new generation to come out followed by the Limousine and the Coupe. This is my Porsche product planning

WOW.... this concept car is a stunner! At least the front looks so many times better than on the Panamera! The new LED lights are crazily good looking - hopefully they bring it!
The rear - its a hatch back and wouldn't be my cup of tea but even here - so much better, due to the cool rear lights.
This all is very promising regarding a Panamera facelift!

Don't expect too much for the facelift but the next generation Panamera will be promising. Also weight-wise.

It will be based on an Audi platform as per the announced VW Group plan, or work on the new Panamera has progressed before the merger?

it's not gonna be an Audi platform. Porsche is developing that platform for 2nd gen Panamera, new Bentleys and possibly even next gen A8.
I still don't like that roof wing...this is a no go.
Same reason I don't like the rear lip on the C63 AMG...it looks so 90s.

Agree. I also prefer much more original and Porsche genuine Panamera roofline. But through design elements and details here I can see something I really like beyond that.
Love most of this design--acid green is tres cool--and liquid whatever paint is super. Don't like the rear from the bsck though, particularly the indentation below the lights and above the bumper. Too wavy for me. I would prefer that the rear deck move smoothly down into the bumper like current Cayenne and Panamera.
But yea for Porsche for staying focused on intelligent performance. Extremely good niche, and damned exciting too...

It's impressive that they kept this secret: I thought we had connected RTers...? There wasn't even a whisper and it's a 2 ton station wagon!!
