Re: Low octane fuel!
First: I am no automotive engineer so I can only tell you things customers told me.
I am aware that our cars can use 95 octane fuel because the ECU recognizes that quality. We need that feature to visit our neighbor countries (we lose HP and we need more fuel using 95 octane, so that is not the right way to lower your fuel bill ;-)).
I didn’t know until today that the ECU is able to recognize more than 98 octane. I was told that this feature isn’t integrated (probably the automotive industry didn’t want to spent money while developing the car).
And maybe another reason for not supporting V-Power: at least in Germany you can have some trouble when your car has more power than officially claimed (i.e. insurance)
