ISUK:Outside and into the sunshine.... (my trusty old Dino in the background)
And finally.... meet the rest of the family
Well I'm covered for wallpapers on my laptop for the next 3 months now.
I never would've thought a Ferrari could look this good in orange. and the color has so much depth, it can go from looking almost rosso scuderia to looking shiny orange under sunlight, and the interior combination of the silver stitching and that single orange stripe really finishes it off, it looks stunning.

I recently had the chance to drive (or better said: battle ) the 458 Italia through Paris and even in heavy traffic, this car was a pure delight. My son enjoyed the ride a lot, the sound of the exhaust/engine is just divine and I can only imagine how great it must be in the Spider. It is also funny to see how even the bumper to bumper parking Parisians are very very careful when they get close to the Spider, incl. the motorcycle/scooter riders. I got some thumbs up from many people, so this car truly stirs up emotions...in an astonishing positive way.

ISUK-congrats and enjoy it in the safe-most way! The color is amazing! Great choice! If ever in my life I order a Ferrari I will steal your color pick :) great rest of the stable as well!
REALZEUS:
So you got a different reaction in France compared to the one you would get in Germany?
Well...my home town isn't really the best turf for such a car...
One of my neighbors already saw my Panamera Turbo Powerkit loaner and immediately came over to tell me how beautiful this car is...and ten seconds later he asked me what I need such a big car for.
I actually prefer driving in France, people don't "block" you by purpose and they move fast from the left to the right lane. The only thing I don't like in France is the "whoever has the most guts, has the right of the way" style of driving. Driving in Paris was like hopping from one lane to the other but at the same time watching out for the dozends of motorcycles and scooters passing you on the left and the right. Still...they were careful when approaching the Ferrari, I was driving a less spectacular car one day earlier and they almost touched me most of the time. I also had some issues with the Tom Tom navigator I used in the Ferrari, it kind of fell of the windshield most of the time (I don't have a clue why) and it was really annoying since Paris is a big city and I don't know it too well. Weather was also horrible, it was sunny for a couple of minutes, then it rained...this town won't see us back again too soon.

Iain,
Have you had more time driving your Awesome Spider?
We are waiting for a more comprehensive review and more comparison between the Italia and the Spider.

Onur,
I've done around 400miles in her now and just love the car. There really isn't any noticeable difference between the two cars in real world driving in terms of performance or handling. The spider is slightly less rigid than the coupe in spirited cornering but in all other respects feels the same. It excels in the noise department for me though as you can hear the exhaust more clearly with the back window down or roof open. In the Italia you have to drop the side windows and that creates more wind rush effect. With the roof open the spider beats the Italia hands down for me personally. I just love driving open top cars.
I have to say that photo's don't do the shape of the spider justice - nor do photo's of the Italia for that matter. The design of the buttresses and rear deck on the spider is beautifully integrated in the metal and much more reminiscent of the 246/308/328/348/355 lineage as opposed to the Italia which shares the glass rear engine hatch first seen on the 360. The Dino inspired cooling outlets on the engine decklid look great.
I love the full leather interior in this car. It just feels right in the spider somehow whilst the alcantara felt right in my Rosso Corsa Italias which were spec'ed more like my 430 Scuderia.
