Some clarification is needed since price is ineed steep. BUT... New AMG Ride Control Performance suspension is optimized on the Ring(in Sport mode) and according to info that I got(my cousin changed his working place lately from Neckarsulm to Affalterbach) SLS AMG GT is few seconds faster then standard model with old Performance suspension(no longer available). Normal SLS did 7.40min and GT version is faster then 458 for example. Keep in mind that we are talking here about car equiped with Conti SP5 tires which are optimized for SLS, but at the same time in Sport Auto wet handling track that same SLS is about 10s faster then Panamera Turbo S(!) or 15s faster then 991CS(!!). BTW, DCTs M programm has been reprogrammed and it is now as fast as possible in gear changes.
IMO new SLS AMG GT is a good additional model in SLS range that targets more dynamic driving oriented costumers.
The sound of the SLS engine is just amazing, only Ferrari builds cars sounding as good.
The SLS already has a steep price tag and the GT has only 20 horses more, so I thought think twice about getting it. Interesting offer though...

Lars997:
I always wonder if you can fell +20HP at this league? Come on - even the difference between a cold humid and a warm dry day might be having a higher impact on having/loosing HPs?
I'm pretty sure you can't but it is an unwritten secret that AMG allows their performance package equipped cars to have a higher power spread in the upper spectrum, especially for the N/A models. So maybe this is valid for the SLS GT engine too?
The C63 AMG produces around 430-440 HP (457 HP on paper), while the PP version produces around 490 to 500 HP (487 HP on paper). So if you take the REAL difference of at least 50 HP, you may understand why the PP version is one second faster from 0-200 kph. At least this is what people in the official (but not public section) AMG Owner's Club forum claim. Judging by my experience with my C63 AMG Coupe PP, this could be true.
