Atzporsche:
200 of those in vancity, the rest in Toronto haha. I saw/see so many 911 in West Van and Kits area. Downtown too actually.
I was surprised to see so many Porsches (older and new, including a couple of 991s), a couple of Ferraris and a Gallardo in Vancouver, not to mention a lot of hi-spec Mercedes, including AMGs.

This is just 911 numbers, not counting Boxsters/Caymans, Panamera or Cayenne.
I remembered a few years ago just before Porsche introduce the Cayenne, I talked to the only dealer in town and I was told they sells just just over 200 cars, 911 together with Boxsters a year. The next year after Cayenne had gone on sale they doubled that number to about 450 cars a year. I imagine that number should be up to around 600 by now with the addition of Panamera. The Cayenne is still a perma-no show in the showroom, the dealer is out of allocation for the next 9 months.
@fritz:
the so called high power cars are quite a normal sight now in town, with most of them having a green N sign in the back too. That N sign means the driver is a New driver who just got their license and is still within the first 2 yr probation period. Drivers will also most likely to be between 16-20 yr old student from China. About even split for man/female.
We locals HATED them to the guts, they are the reason insurances are sky rocketing up, these spoiled kids from China buy up the super cars, crash them within a year and buys another. Without blinking an eye.

I did get the impression from my unscientific survey (i.e., just walking around town for two days) that a disproportionately high proportion of the new, more expensive cars seemed to be driven by young Chinese people, but it didn't occur to me that were just "temporary" residents.
