981S standard spec in the UK includes Xenon headlights.
Can anyone confirm whether standard 981S Xenon headlights (without PDLS) includes washers please?
I have never seen or heard of OEM Xenon lights from any manufacturer without washers.
It would seem that is the case: the basic xenon lights on the Boxster S do not include the washers. On the German configurator, if you try to add the "headlight washers painted in body color" option, you will be asked to first select the PDLS option.
Same thing with the US configurator.

I hate head lights whashers.
You spend ages cleaning the car and waxing it, and when the washers are activated, you end up with water and soap all over the bonnet and the front bumper. 
On BMWs, it's even worse as the same command is used to activate the widshields washers and the head lights whashers... (headlights washers go on from time to time, even when you don't want them to be activated).
What a stupid invention.

My understanding as well. Only the leveling system was meant to be dismissed under certain preconditions. It seems to me, assuming the above specs are indeed correct, that Porsche found a legislative loophole to dismiss the headlight washers.
On the dealer configurator, the standard Xenons on the 981S does not have washers. You only get washers if PDLS is specified.
I am shocked by this, but PCGB say the configurator is correct. PCGB won't however put anything in writing.
Also, compare the light descriptions of 991 (991 which I have driven with standard Xenons had washers) and 981:
"The new 911 models are equipped as standard with Bi-Xenon headlights including a headlight cleaning system and dynamic range control. With dipped or main beam, the road ahead is illuminated more uniformly."
"The Boxster S is equipped as standard with Bi-Xenon headlights."
I have added PDLS to my spec, assuming it's not too late.

Regarding Xenons with wash, the standard unit on 981 S is a 25-watt system so doesn't require washers - washers are only required above 2000 lumens and these units just creep below the threshold. The optional PDLS unit on the other hand is 35-watt, >2000 lumen system and does require washers

Checking with my dealer this afternoon and my car is still status D so we have asked if it is possible to add the PDLS option, not sure about this one as the build is scheduled to complete on May 15th -
I thought I had the dealers fIrst customer build slot, but then again I do keep adding toys so this may continue to delay things.

That's what really frustrates me about Porsche - their brilliant mid engined range deliberately "down engineered" to be second class citizens in the range. 
Why not give the 981 the same lights as the 991? The cost can be only pence difference?

I just managed to add the PDLS to my build, but was then told no further changes. Its funny how the PDLS was one of those options that I had considered but then rejected on economic grounds as I incorrectly assumed it just added bendy headlights to the standard xenons with headlight wash.
